How was the early 2000s?

- MJ was balling in a blue jersey

- Fight Club inspired thousands of drunk white guys to get beat up on weekends

- Midtop Air-Force 1 were HOT

- J-lo then = Kim K now ... Except Jlo actually did something for a living and had talent

- Nike.com was AWESOME very interactive

- Lots of girls wearing over the shouder shirts with one sleeve and tatoo style choker necklaces

- Tribal tatoos

- Chinese tatoos

- Malls were slowly dying thanks to the internet, but still a great place to pick up suburban Goth hunnys

- Juvenile was Cash Money hot seller (Nobody cared about Little Wayne)

- Sam Goody :smokin

- Napster :smokin :smokin

- Lars Ulrich :smh:

- Chinese letters on a Button up shirt ? Doing it

- Dragons on a Button up shirt ? Doing it

- Lightning on a Button up shirt ? Doing it

- Flames on a Button up shirt ? Doing it

- Plain button up shirt ? Not doing it

- Big ole ugly platform rocket dog sneakers for the wimminz that thought they were doin it

- Elfy curly toe clown shoe Steve Maddens for the dudez that thought they were doin it

- Scream movies were considered very scary and too gory by most people

- If you had a cellphone you were really doing it

- Eminem had every white dude that wanted to be different rocking all white K-swiss with bleached hair

- Teck Holmes had every black dude that wanted to be different rocking all white K-swiss with bleached hair

- It was waaaay cooler to own a riced out eco box with a tacky body kit then a Gbody.

:pimp:

2001 2002 2003 was classic yrs for me 14-16

you could make bank sellin burnt CD's then...spinners was :pimp: ...kids used to play outside...& jordans was quality & all you had to do was get to the store about 10 mins before it opened to get em (in my area they would sit for up to a couple weeks til they sell out or get shipped to another store)...NT was like fraternity back then...

Man I was the Heisenberg of the bootleg CDs and candy back then. Made $500 off GRODT alone. I signed onto my Yahoo messenger a couple years ago and there are like 2 girls still on. They both hit me like OMG its been so long

Crazy how I dont see kids outside playing anymore. Young kids just posted up smokin blacks and whatever else.

Times have changed so much (as I type this from my phone)

PHILLY SPORTS:

- Iverson being larger than life.

- McNabb shakin dudes and then bombing the ball downfield.

And then he hurled all his chunky soup on the field...I dont normally hate people for no good reason but the hate is strong in my heart for McNabb

REAL TALK!

That jersey retirement ceremony last Thursday night made me sick to my stomach :smh:  .. My hatred for McChunk runs deep!

, Jordans with Nike Air and same OG type quality.

YAHOO messenger. I was that dude back then. If u had braids with da hangtime, yambs were had.

Class of 03 b.

Dudes with the Braids/Fresh jersey combo got ALL the yambs. That was like an instant appearance booster. I was jealous lol.

Also, there was a neo soul resurgance to counter the Gangsta hip hop craze of that era. A much needed balance.

Rap City was the show :pimp:

Free's booty on 106 :smh: :pimp:

Buying mixtapes from this dude at my school for $3

Albums were better than mixtapes back then

A lot more girls go both ways now

A lot of dudes 21 and under are a lot more feminine now

The best duo of all time Shaq and Kobe dominated

GTA 3 and Vice City :pimp: :pimp:

The DC sniper :smh:. I actually went to school with one of the kids that got shot.

Mike Vick and 50 Cent were gods in the hood for a short period of time

Jordans were A LOT easier to get. I remember people thought it was crazy that the 17's cost 200. Now that's nothing to some people.

DMX was supposed to be the next Pac :smh:

Dudes thought Dipset was gonna be just as big as Wu

You would get clowned if showed up in school with a replica champion jersey

Jay Z and Eminem dominated

Lot of good points and some craziness being said here. I can't emphasize enough how sufficient the white on white AF1 low and mid were for everyone. That made copping Jordans/Retros easier. Now? Forget it. Everybody is on EVERYTHING no matter how good/wack it is. I blame rappers for this though.

The max you were paying a reseller for a shoe was $250 unless it was really rare.

Chinese letters and Dragons on a shirt was never doing it

.

I do remember a lot of this tho....

AF1 Craze
Ja Rule and FIfty
Jay and Nas
A bunch of Rocket Power, Catdog, Adult Swim
Du rags and Headbands
Dipset
AIM
Myspace
Wristbands Cornrows (The AI influence)
Disney had the piff movies back then
106 and park
I use to watch The Box channel played the same music videos over and over but it got me thru lol
Reggae and Dancehall blew up
BET uncut

me and my brother made a killing on Dreamcast games, burned movies, and cds in the early 00s in high school.  We were the first people i know who had a CD burner, i remember that computer cost $2000 and it was 500 MHz processor, 20 GB hard drive (if that), and dual CD drives.

and those specs back in the day were top of the line.

I definitely remember those And 1 tapes.

No Limit Records was on the decline when Cash Money hit the scene.

I remember when the black infrared 6s first retro'd.

22' inch rims made you look twice!

Spinners (we called em Spreewell's down south) came out.

The Miami Hurricanes were the ****!

I remember when the Jordan 17's came out in 2001 (My 9th grade year) and people were going crazy for that $200 price tag. I would of never imagine getting shoes for $200 back then, but now, totally different story..smh
