If McCain wins... these people win. This is extremely disturbing.

so on one side of the street you have people voting for a candidate because he represents them or perhaps they belive he could or would better represent themfor whatever reason - be it socially, ethnically, or whatever have you....

and on the other side you have people calling the opposing candidate an anti-american, terrorist monkey and having their kids make chimpanzee/gorillasounds.....

looks like a pretty lopsided street if you ask me.....

And what exactly makes someone American? I hear them saying I want to be an American. What the hell are they talking about?
Exactly about 35-40 percent of people voting are ignorant. Politics are way more complex then anybody realizes.

MOSTHATED.. there is a difference between voting for a black candidate because he is black than voting for a black candidate because he is black and qualified.

Did Sharpton get anywhere when he ran No! And yes people are voting for Obama because he is black but if he wasn't qualified Obama would not even be closeto where he is now.

Also whites not voting for Obama because he is black or "muslim" is out of hate. Blacks voting for Obama because he is black is out of hope, prideand believing in him. Comparing the two is ridiculous.

And by the way, I won't quote you but what you said was racist.

Its really sad for me to say this, just as a human being, but even if obamas name was john smith these videos would still exist! thats truly *%#%$!@ sad! Evenif his name was john smith, even if he was the smartest man alive, if he could come through with all of the promises he has made, EVEN if he was OVERQUALIFIEDfor the job of president it still wouldnt matter to those people in that video! HE IS BLACK AND THATS ALL THAT MATTERS TO SOME PEOPLE! It doesnt matter whatkind of experience or credentials you have, as long as your black your not qualified... Black people can be teachers, judges, lawyers, athletes, etc, butheaven forbid if a black person tried becoming president! When i hear the words "this nation is not ready for a black president" i want to *%#%$!@shoot someone... What does that even mean? When will this country be ready? If colin powell was running right now people would be saying the same $$%+ abouthim. Its cool for him to be a GENERAL, but whoa, what the *+@# is Colin powell thinkin about tryna run for president! This man ( Obama) is damn near riskinghis *%#%$!@ life to try to fix this country! I almost wish he would just drop out of the race so that we can all sit back and watch John Mccain *+@# thiscountry up even more.

It's way too late for that now....you can see how bad it has gotten a few weeks ago when McCain kinda lost control of the crowd at a rally. You could really see the look of fear all over his face....like Dr. Frankenstein realizing what kind of monster he had created.
Its never to late to speak out against racism. Its a sad fact that McCain/Palin want this type of ignorant supporters, its their only chance.Luckily most intelligent/rational Americans don't think this way, thus the reason why Obama is leading in most of the polls.

It's one thing to be an ignorant racist, but to bring up your children like that is DISGUSTING.

The first video sickened me.

apparently the only real americans live in rural industrial towns in middle america that are usually 100% white. everyone else is some sort of unpatrioticpunk....i didn't get the memo.

they act like no other group helped make this country great

black slaves made this country economically viable.
chinese immigrants helped settle the west and unite the country.
mexicans and spanish influence is as much a part of our national fabric as red white and blue.
muslims and christians both died on 9/11 and there are muslims and christians in our armed forced and intelligence agencies helping to keep us safe.

How dare these people dictate who a 'real' american is.

But that makes you wonder how much difference there really is between voting for someone because of there race and not voting for someone becauseof there race. Wont take to long for the 1st to become the latter if its pushed towards it.

Im ignorant on both their stances on alot of subjects so i dont like to speak on them or their views personally. Just on some of the views of the voters.

show me a vid of blacks using racial slurs against mccain and palin.
roll.gif
that analogy is so bad im just laughing. most of the whites who simply vote for mccain are the same ones in the vid who are using slurs. white rednecks+mccain= slurs.... black+obama= slurs???

is saying not understanding the issues a valid excuse for their racist views??

Exactly, for the most part...the hate is one-sided. I havent seen or heard any black folks attempting to kill McCain, shout epithets at rallies, etc.

PLEASE explain to me how he is qualified? What has he done in his life that gives him experience to lead a nation? HE HIMSELF said he doesnt haveexperience to be a president...

last time i checked blacks made up like 13-15% of the US population while whites make up 75%.

blacks voting for Obama solely on race is no where near as much of a game changer as a small minority of whites who wouldn't vote for him because of race.

Barak Obama's Accomplishments

- Obama passed legislation with Republican Senator Jim Talent to give gas stations a tax credit for installing E85 ethanol refueling pumps. The tax creditcovers 30 percent of the costs of switching one or more traditional petroleum pumps to E85, which is an 85 percent ethanol/15 percent gasoline blend.

- After a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Ob More..ama worked with law enforcement officials to require the videotaping ofinterrogations and confessions in all capital cases.

- His first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and whereevery dime of their tax dollars is spent.

- Obama created the Illinois Earned Income Tax Credit for low-income working families in 2000 and successfully sponsored a measure to make the credit permanentin 2003. The law offered about $105 million in tax relief over three years.

- Obama joined forces with former U.S. Sen. Paul Simon (D-IL) to pass the toughest campaign finance law in Illinois history. The legislation banned thepersonal use of campaign money by Illinois legislators and banned gifts from lobbyists. Before the law was passed, one organization ranked Illinois worst among50 states for its campaign finance regulations.

- As a member of the Veterans' Affairs Committee, Senator Obama has fought to help Illinois veterans get the disability pay they were promised, whileworking to prepare the VA for the return of the thousands of veterans who will need care after Iraq and Afghanistan.

- He traveled to Russia with Republican +@+% Lugar to begin a new generation of non-proliferation efforts designed to find and secure deadly weapons around theworld.

- Obama has been a leading advocate for protecting the right to vote, helping to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act and leading the opposition againstdiscriminatory barriers to voting.

- In the U.S. Senate, Obama introduced the STOP FRAUD Act to increase penalties for mortgage fraud and provide more protections for low-income homebuyers, wellbefore the current subprime crisis began.

- Obama sponsored legislation to combat predatory payday loans, and he also was credited with lobbied the state to more closely regulate some of the mostegregious predatory lending practices.

- Barack Obama introduced the Patriot Employer Act of 2007 to provide a tax credit to companies that maintain or increase the number of full-time workers inAmerica relative to those outside the US; maintain their corporate headquarters in America; pay decent wages; prepare workers for retirement; provide healthinsurance; and support employees who serve in the military.

- Obama worked to pass a number of laws in Illinois and Washington to improve the health of women. His accomplishments include creating a task force oncervical cancer, providing greater access to breast and cervical cancer screenings, and helping improve prenatal and premature birth services.

- Obama has introduced and helped pass bipartisan legislation to limit the abuse of no-bid federal contracts.

- Obama and Senator Feingold (D-WI) took on both parties and proposed ethics legislation that was described as the "gold standard" for reform. It wasbecause of their leadership that ending subsidized corporate jet travel, mandating disclosure of lobbyists' bundling of contributions, and enacting strongnew restrictions of lobbyist-sponsored trips became part of the final ethics bill that was signed into law.

Not only that but community organizing lets you deal straight with the people and understand their needs up front better than any politician can, graduatedfrom Harvard Law towards the top of his class, was president of the Harvard Law Review, AND was a constitutional lawyer so he knows the ins & outs andspecifics of the constitution.

Oh please, don't give that "my would have saw her in a different light". If she said that, you'd be like of course she shouldhave said that, I give her no credit for saying something she should've said. It's a lose lose situation for her.

someone explain to me the contention they have with voters supporting a candidate they feel best represents them socially and then how regardless of whetherthat is a valid reasoning or not - how it somehow warrants the behavior in the videos. Somehow and for some reason it is so wrong for African-Americans tosupport Barack that it justifies what is going on there?? Was it also wrong for women to support Hillary? ....Palin? in the same sense? Would that justifymobs of people calling them all sorts of derrogatory slurs and lies? This is not what a presidential rally should look like. Firstly, as was already stated,Obama is not ahead in the polls because he is black and running on the support of the black vote. But in whatever case, I don't see why that is the issueof the thread...from my understanding, the thread is about a video that clearly displays an extreme and ugly element of hatred and bigotry....

the response is "....so?....well, people vote for Obama just because he is black".

?

if that is somehow a worthy or legitimate comparison in your mind and it somehow justifies the ugliness coming out of those people...I think there may actuallybe some bias in your own reasoning. The issue is not about supporting a candidate because you fall into the same social group or not supporting one because youdon't. If the video were of people stating they would not vote for barack because of the color of his skin or they were going to vote for mccain becauseof the color of his skin or they were women voting for mccain because of Palin's gender - that may be a comparison that would fit....but this is people whoare obviously full of what I could only consider hate and who are obviously just spewing outright slurs and lies...where is the equivalence in that?
