Killer Mike was down with DF for years before he got his shine. Its call paying dues. You just cant come in the game 1 day and be like ok im talented 4get all the other artist on the label and put me 1st. Are you serious. The reason he wouldnt have had a hit cause the game was so 1 diminsional, and there wasnt as many avenues and outlets to get ur music exposed and heard. He isnt a musical genius, but to say he is just some gay fruity dressin dude who pressed some magic button and created hit after hit after hit is at the very most a very ignorant and asinine statement.

first of all patna, u have no idea what my bank account looks like, so u can kill that irrelevant s***.........

2nd, beanie & killer mike werent trying to be big producers before they were rappers, they were always just tryin to break in as MC's, and yes theypaid they dues, but that doesnt mean every rapper does that........

and it has nothing to do with the game being one dimensional, kanye came into the game strictly as a producer, and did that successfully for several years, then saw how watered down everything was and decided to try and change it by making lame music and wearing g*y clothes, yet calling it "different andunique" and having all the kids nowadays thinking hes some savior or revolutionary...........smh

not a diss or anything, but its for the simps & "insert word for soft here".. etcetc

You're awesome. I really mean that.

Imma assume that wasn't directed to me. I struggled giving it a handful of spins before it hit the recycle bin.

Why be all politically correct ? You scared to just come out with the truth ?

Let me do it for you.

808's, like the majority of the hipster rap that popped off in recent years is for homosexuals. Soft pop beats, flamboyant colors, tight clothing, soft emosubject matter... it's all there. Calling some gay sub-top 50 whiny, inflated ego having producer who sings pop emo anthems with auto tune a"genius" is just pathetic.

If Puffy and the Bad Boys era dug main-stream hip hops grave, it's clowns like kanye who came along and shoved the corpse in and piled the dirt on top.

I thought it was awful from first listen and after hearing the songs he "sampled" on that album, it made me dislike it even more. Some of the worstexamples of straight up biting other people's work and passing it off as sampling. Not only that, but the parts that he actually did contribute range fromaverage to embarrassing.

There are parts where I'll start laughing hysterically because of how awful and ridiculous the *$@% is. Like, I honestly don't know how people can takesome of those songs seriously...

I actually listened to 808's through the whole CD afew times because people were giving it the thumbs up, but I just cant vibe to it. Everyone likes different types of music and if some of you consider kanye agenius then so be it. Dude is a very talented producer to say the least.

i've posted this before and i'll post it again...

say what you want...but yes. EVERY album he has made is a classic, and this will not be realized until 'Ye passes ...he is THE greatest hip-hop artistaround and after a couple albums will be on the same level as guys like Thom Yorke, Eddie Vedder, Beck, guys who are THE geniuses of our time...

Kanye IMO has reached his goal, when you talk about him, you don't compare him to other hip-hop artists, you compare him to artists in general.

College Dropout/Blueprint spurred the soul sampling craze...

Late Registration started a rock trend...

Graduation sparked the electro trend...

and like it or not, 808s made it OK for guys like Kid Cudi and Drake to exist...

All the hate now is pointless, this guy is our Michael Jackson, our Prince, and sadly it might not be realized for another 20 years...

name another hip-hop/pop artist who has opened for The Rolling Stones, U2, and performed with The Police. He has to be doing something right i'd say.

PS - this guy has 4 albums and a few mixtapes and you come up with what? 7 bad songs? not even BAD, just not up to his standards? i'd say that'salright...

Other than your LR claim which I dont get I agree with you but you claiming he has 4 classics. Wow. Graduation and 808 are not classics. LR is aclassic in my mind arguably and CD may be a classic for what it did and the time period it came but as far as excellence in music its great but not classic.

how did late registration start a rock trend? and I disagree with that second statement, timbo sparked the heavy synth/electro pop with FS/LS back in 06'imo. I like Kanye though and agree with everything you else said except the thing about him being a genius (I think he has a great ear for what soundsgood/what is next to be popular) and the michael jackson of our time statement.

I don't get why so many people hate. This is what being an 'artist' is all about... Being creative and having his own style.

Late Registration featured heavy orchestration and rock/pop elements similar to Coldplay and many jumped on board in following the sounds of LR.

As far as Graduation, Timbo may have started something with FL/LS, but it didn't catch til 'Ye dropped Stronger...tell me people like LMFAO or radiostuff like that would be able to be relevant without Stronger ever being created...and don't say Daft Punk was still there because nobody was up onDP/Techno til Graduation dropped.

As far as this thread, wow, i don't know if i've ever seen so much hating in one thread before that's not an M16 thread...

Don't know if your were talking about me or not but I'm not hating, I'm a Kanye fan and I think he just receives hatred because he doesn't careabout what people think and does whatever he wants to do.

I was speaking in general, but to the bolded part in my quote of you...isn't that a good thing in an artist? when an artist plays to the fans so many arequick to call Sell-Out...

808's, like the majority of the hipster rap that popped off in recent years is for homosexuals. Soft pop beats, flamboyant colors, tight clothing, soft emo subject matter... it's all there. Calling some gay sub-top 50 whiny, inflated ego having producer who sings pop emo anthems with auto tune a "genius" is just pathetic.

If Puffy and the Bad Boys era dug main-stream hip hops grave, it's clowns like kanye who came along and shoved the corpse in and piled the dirt on top.
he is barely average

No I think thats a GREAT thing, I just think thats why a lot of people dislike him because he does/says whatever he wants to do/say and most of the timeit's not what they want to hear.

Yo I slept hard on this album, but it isn't that bad...

Street Lights is one of my favorites off of this album, but the album isn't all that bad...I don't know I might be in the minority saying that thoughbecause I know it received a lot of hate when it dropped.

False. This is about the point where I start to really question what you are talking about...
..he is THE greatest hip-hop artist around
False
and after a couple albums will be on the same level as guys like Thom Yorke, Eddie Vedder, Beck, guys who are THE geniuses of our time..
False.
Kanye IMO has reached his goal, when you talk about him, you don't compare him to other hip-hop artists, you compare him to artists in general.
False.
College Dropout/Blueprint spurred the soul sampling craze...
True. Him, Blaze and 'The Heatmakers' got that sampling $+$% very popular. At least in regards to hooks. If your talking about soulsampling strictly for beats, then I'm going to have to vehemently disagree because people like Primo and PR had been doing it for ages.
Late Registration started a rock trend...
Meh, dunno about that.
Graduation sparked the electro trend...
Possibly. But again, not really sure about that one
and like it or not, 808s made it OK for guys like Kid Cudi and Drake to exist...
False. Cudi and Drake aren't even alike.
All the hate now is pointless, this guy is our Michael Jackson, our Prince, and sadly it might not be realized for another 20 years...
Holy @!%$, I think I have seen it all. And this is the point where I totally disregard all that you say in regards to Kanye, but I keep readingnonetheless.

Honestly, I could give a *#++ about all of those groups. But I guess that is an accomplishment. Props to him?

You stop that right now.

I count at least 9 bad songs off his last two albums alone.
