when I read some of the bull %$%+ that gets posted here on the regular. There is a lot of animosity towards Jordan on this board  from the younger generation. Like mentioned, if you're not over the age of 25, you really have no business speaking on 90's basketball and even at the age of 25 you had to be a hardcore fan to encompass what you witnessed. I have noticed the trend of Kobe fans calling Jordan a "douche", like that gives them a one up. The truth of the matter is, who these players are off the court is completely irrelevant.

I was fortunate to witness the 80's era of basketball, so my history goes a litter further back than most members here. I will tell you that anyone saying that these players today are better than the last two decades not only have their head lodged up their $%%, but should never speak on this sport again until they really learn something. The fact is rules had to be changed in this decade because the lack of skilled and fundamentally sound players. Don't get me wrong, there are players that play today that could have easily played in the 80's & 90's. Stern was forced to speed up the game and open up things because after MJ walked away, the sport was a complete bore to the casual fan. A lot of you don't realize how much Stern has dictated how this game is perceived. Before members share their opinion they should really do some homework. I would say most of you like to come off as educated fans, but come to the table with a casual fan IQ at best and that's being polite.

90's ball was much better than todays... it isnt close IMO. but i do blame the refs and NBA for letting it get to this point. I loved watching this years finals bc it was a throwback to 90's ball. the refs finally let them play

I'm not gonna just outright say that he would drop 100,but I will say that it's really not THAT hard to imagine Mike (in his prime)
going off like that in THIS era.

MJ is completely delusional...he'd break 80 but getting to 100 is a completely different beast and is a feat that'll never be reached ever again. If he was really that hot and on pace for 100 teams could just triple team him and force his teammates into making shots.

thats 31 pts off his high if im not mistaken with defenders that are bigger stronger and faster than he was.

Most of the people that defended him in his prime wouldn't even make an NBA squad today im sorry and no im not young i remember 90s basketball same goes for football Walter Payton and OJ would have sat down if Patrick Willis hit sticked them.

You talking about old 60s,70s,80s violent NFL??? Where you could body slam people, clotheslines from hell (word to lynn swann) and just try to kill the player on the opposing team???? Naa man,you can't compare old NFL with the new NFL. Sure some of these dudes are beasts but football isn't as violent as it was (QB safety)

 These dudes are hilarious.

Thats what I'm talkin bout
laugh.gif
,I mean Tatum paralyzed a player in a preseason game. This dude saying Patrick Willis would make Payton and the juice sit down when they played the most violent and physical competition.

Of course you would say that.

How about the 2004 champs vs. 1994 champs then?

seriously.. take a look at ALL TIME great players who had to wait til either jordan a) semi-retired or b) really retired before getting a ring.. this is off the top of my head:

4 top 10 centers: hakeem, ewing, robinson and shaq

2 top 10 PFs: barkley and malone

1 top 10 SG: drexler

1 top 10 PG: stockton (payton could also go on this list, depending on where you rank him.. I personally put him just outside the top 10)

i say all of that to say this.. if jordan wanted to do something in the sport of basketball, he would.. if dude played today and saw kobe score 81 pts.. i believe he would wait til he played the lakers and KILL HIM pull out the defibrillator.. resuscitate him and KILL HIM again

seriously kobe has gotten punked by reggie miller and chris childs.. jordan stood up to actual thugs

call me delusional but if were talking 00's vs 90's i could see the argument there. aside from shaq and garnett name me one superstar in the nba drafts from 90-95 grant hill was becoming one but the injury ended that. whereas the guys from the 96 draft and up reached their prime in the 2000's plus the 2003 draft factors in too.

alot of the players drafted in the early 90's underacheived and had short careers for whatever reason, but if you were to make a team of the 90's vs a team of the 00's i could see the 00's team beating the 90's team but the 80's team would beat both.

but still regarding 100 points any solid offensive player could have a chance at it if he got hot and made it his focus in the game to get 100, you know if the outcome of the game was decided already that his teammates would try to get him numerous looks and shots. that's how it was in wilts game and in kobes game. that's not taking anything away from either of the two because 100 and 81 are impressive.

doesn't matter he brought up eloh like jordan didnt do eloh team in
