Jordan Retro 1 '85 Black/Red Feb 14th 2025

At this point the difference between 10,000 pairs and 23,000 is probably nothing.

The hype fire has been lit.

I've accepted that I'm not getting a pair for retail.

...not gonna waste my time on a pipe dream.

Have faith. You can overcome those buy bots.

I think JB could do the funniest thing ever which would be to strum up hype for these with this bogus *** super limited nonsense, only to drop 198,500 pairs on April 1st which is the date the Jordan 1 originally released in 1985. Resellers would be forced to choke and lower prices due to the market for these being more saturated and hypebeasts would drown in their own tears because they might go to the grocery store and see more than 2 other people wearing these. For those of us who actually want these for themselves, we would have a much better chance at getting at least a single pair. I'm just being delusional but imagine.

From the agent of Michael Jordan, David Falk. Mentions Phil Knight's idea to limit production to create hype. SMH

This would have been breaking news in 1985.

I'm confused why you're posting this....are you surprised by this or something?

The amount of shoetubers alone that have these lets me know there is more than 10k. 25k is probably the real number but they driving up the hype. Like I said they would be only shortening they own profit by limiting a color way like this.

Most shoetubers simply buy the shoes on goat and make the money back with their content. Not everyone is getting seeded.

I don’t like those either but was just saying it’s interesting how much these are right now while other shoes that were hyped have come down quite a bit, like check out Shattered OGs.

I have to assume that the 2025 pair has something to do with the price on the 2015 Shattereds.

I think i finally see Nikes marketing scheme upon seeing the thread earlier when i saw the black toe reimagined -

I think they purposefully hyped the 85 bred in lower quantity for now in hopes that those who didn’t manage to get the 85 will cop the reimagine black toe instead. As those weren’t that popular with the fans with the logo and all. There’s a reason why they decide to push those back from initial release date to 1 day AFTER the 85 bred release date.

I think once they maximized the sale of those, they’d eventually release more bred 85 to the market. As they need the sales to achieve the yearly target, and this will no doubt contribute quite a bit.

Wonder how they will spin the next OG bred release after this down the road?? As far as perfection this is prolly as close we will ever get. Guessing it'll be some lost and found vintage release. Prlly some whack **** like reimagined royal 1s by 2028

Well yeah but those OGs are not being replicated for softness of the leather, which is a whole other story. I’ll be trying for those later this year. Wonder if the OGs will drop more closer we get. If OGs get to 6 I might bite… idk.

85s leather is a thicker and stiffer cut. It’s funny to me how those shattered 🚀 up, but I’ve NEVER seen them in person.

I actually saw a dude rocking Kaws greys beat to death in the gym the other day. Props to that dude.
