Women are definitely more insecure physically.

This is definitely false. Men are just insecure about different things and their insecurities manifest differently.

Dudes risking their lives shooting up drugs to gain muscle mass.

Short Men constantly being in a state of rage to prove themselves.

Men are equally insecure about their appearance.

People calling Monique a "misogynist" for asking black women to stop wearing bonnets / inside clothes, when outside:

Where it started:

The entertainer shared that while she was traveling to Jackson, Mississippi for a gig, she was astounded by how many “young sistas” she saw wearing “head bonnets, scarfs, slippers pajamas, [and] blankets wrapped around them” at the airport.

“I’ve been seeing it not just at the airport. I’ve been seeing it at the store, at the mall … ” Mo’Nique said, adding “When did we lose our pride in representing ourselves? When did we slip away of let me make sure I’m presentable when I leave my home?”

“So when I say hey, Queen, I can only say it to the sistas that it belongs to. Because a lot of us are still in queen training. So if you’re in queen training stop being fearful of taking your position,” she added. “Queens don’t walk around in bonnets, and head scarfs and slippers and pajamas. That’s for the house. When you go outside, represent you, baby .. like you are worthy and you deserve the title of ‘Hey, Queen.'”

How its going:

“How is it that you can’t address women as queens based on how they’re dressed, but you expect corporations to pay you fairly with complete disregard to some of your previous actions on stage and in public? … Out of everything going on in the world, you choose to police women of color, specially [sic] black women, for being comfortable in public and you call this being a Queen?

She added, “I was a little lost at why a lot of people stopped following you over the years, but I clearly understand now. This was extremely anti-black, misogynistic and ignorant. If you know better, do better. I just can not believe the same women who did nothing besides body shame skinny women, talk about d*ck and had an entire series dedicated to harassing a black man has the audacity to police another black woman on appropriate behavior.”

Larger discussion to be had for sure.

They can wear whatever they want. I won't think about it much if all past the 2nd I see it, but Bonnets are ugly as hell. Yes they can say "its protective", but it doesn't look less trash b/c of it. Another convo that could had is that a lot of Black ppl especially Black women hate their hair for reasons pushed on us via white supremacy and they'd rather walk out the house in those ugly *** bonnets than to show what their hair really looks like.

I remember is disgusting amount of Black ppl clowning Hov's daughter Blue Ivy for her hair as an afro & they were/are trash for that. I suspect of large amount of them were bonnet *****es. Her hair is and was very beautiful, and she never let the world convince her different.

Cute kid, inspired Hov's arguably best song as well:

Also, Monique being fat all of those years really hid how pretty she is. There is a little bit of irony in recording that video in a bathrobe though.

I mentioned this in the other thread but I just think it is unsanitary to transition sleepwear into the outdoor environment.

Pajamas are bedroom clothes that you use in your BED. To wear them outside and then to turn around and put them BACK into your bed is just dirty. So, I never got down with pajamas being used outside for that reason alone.

RE: bonnets. I see both sides. I understand their struggle of not wanting/feeling like doing something with your hair if you just want to make a quick run outside so I won't fault them for that.

Yea, I can't agree with the idea that women are more insecure.

We can say that women are tied to their physical beauty as a form of IDENTITY more than men are but we are easily just AS insecure.
I agree. I should have said men are insecure in different ways.

Still can’t agree with that. I think it’s all equal

I Just think about how often, even when giving a general description of a woman on the WORK-force, a woman's looks are brought up when describing who she IS.

I don't think it is close honestly.

But again, I think we are no more/less insecure than women.

How would you describe a male?

How would you describe a male?

I think dudes physical attractiveness don't get brought up in scenarios where that isn't relevant.

If a woman looks good, it will get mentioned whether you are being asked about her ability to carve wood or landscape.

I will just say to pay close attention to it moving forward if you don't already.

Ehh again I disagree. How dude is built is like step 1. “The jacked dude” or “the fat guy”.

Again, how would YOU describe a male?

So remember, the ONLY reason I said women's looks get brought up more is because of how it is handled in professional settings.

On a casual level, physical attributes ARE used equally for both sexes.

But in a PROFESSIONAL setting (go back where I mentioned this from the jump), a woman's looks (if she looks good) get brought up when the looks aren't even needed.

But me personally, if I am asked about someone's ability I wouldn't mention their physicals unless we are talking about sports.

So to answer your question, it depends on the setting.

Examples, If I am at work and someone asks, "HOw is Blaster?" : I would say, "Slacker, leaves work early, takes off often."

Ok, now describe a female

EYE ain't stupid enough to include a woman's look in her professional description.

If I am at work and someone asks, "HOw is Blastera?" : I would say , "She is a Slacker, leaves work early, takes off often.

But quite often, if she looked good, people would throw in how pretty she is as if that matters.

Fair. There’s no right or wrong, just wanted to see an example

Both my wife and I hate our last names. :lol:I prefer my mom's last name because I feel far more connected to her side of the family and it sounds cooler. I gave my wife the option to keep hers or atleast get it hyphenated and she said no. I wanted to change my last name officially but it will make certain things more complicated. So I use my maiden name as last name in casual non-official business related situations eg. Making a reservation.

lol @ gave her the option

I just can't throw away my culture and heritage. I'd try to be accomodating,
the not taking my last name would be a difficult pill to swallow. but I get it, it's 2021

but for a prospective baby? Nah I just can't deal with that.

no way am I gunna be Giannis Antetokounmpo naming his child "Liam"
