**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Julius Randle had the "biggest jump" from last game to tonight for Lakers, Walton said. Loved how Randle communicated defensively

Kuzma...

Nance has been looking like the worst player on the court these past two games. He was really frustrated yesterday. Need him to snap out of it and contribute. He's not strong enough to play the 5 so that limits him. It was interesting that magic mentioned all the trade offers he was getting for him..

Also interesting how much court time Randle and kuz are getting together and the chemistry that's been there so far. Not a bad one two punch they got going

- I overestimated the number of games we're gonna win this season. I think it'll be closer to 30 than 40. Our defense is horrendous and the addition of Brook Lopez to the line-up won't help.
- Ingram is determined to be the alpha dog and it seems like he's pressing. He trying to do too much, he needs to play more within the offense.
- Kuzma. What more can I say? I keep thinking that his jumper is gonna stop falling and he'll go cold but he keeps on hitting it and gaining confidence. I don't fully understand how his floaters and hook shots go in but whatever. He even looks surprised sometimes when those shots fall :lol::lol:
- Lonzo is gonna take a long time to develop. He's a 19 year old starting point guard. He's gonna get ate for years and he'll have to learn his lessons on the court. I see flashed but we need to be patient

Reactions: God
our best shooters last night were kuzma and kcp
brook should provide us some more shooting once the season starts
it seems that BI is either driving to the hole or spotting up for a 3...i saw like one post play, for someone who should be one of our best shooters id like to see more jumpshots
aside from offense, this team will still get toasted defensively...
nance was getting cooked by saavy millsap
i liked what i saw from kyle at the 3 and feel he can hold his own there
i hope brook and bogut can get some burn soon, really need to see how the team looks with vet 7 footers in there
josh hart out again with a bum hammy, smh

Watching the game again. The defense in the 1st was actually really good. They were up 10 for most of the quarter.

Had a good 1st against the wolves too. Rather have fast starts and learn how to keep them than get have slow starts and try to scrap back like we did all last year.

I've pointed that out to a few people about BI. They act like I'm crazy, however these are people that I play with that play the same way and see no fault in their style... haha

Feel like BI and Randle hijack the offense at times but that's more because there is no offense at this point. Also Zo isn't great at creating in the half court at this point so we're seeing a lot of iso.

I like BI being aggressive. He got the tools, his offense will come.
I do too. Like I said there isn't much of a half court offense at this point, hopefully guys get easier looks eventually.

He and Randle aren't looking to pass enough and Zo is over passing at this point. I think they'll find better balance.

After watching the game again, I'm really not that worried. Really encouraged by the 1st half defense.

Watching the post game show highlights, every time someone OTHER THAN DENG scores, Magic was clapping in his seat or standing up cheering. LOL he hates Deng.

Prolly sees Mitch and Jim’s face every time he looks at Deng

Why are we worried about Ingram right now?

I think that s fans we're just predisposed to overreacting. One good game and he's the future and afew bad preseason games and people are ready to ship him out. Look at Giannis (a player I liken Ingram to), he was legit bad his rookie year. He average 7, 4 and 2 while shooting 41% his rookie season. He steadily improved and the light really went off midway through his 3rd year and now he's a top 10 player going into his 5th season.

Lakers fans aren't used to being patient. If you're going to build around 19 year olds, be ready to have years of growing pains and nights where they look overmatched.

Not that he's a savior or anything but brooky is gonna open up some things for this team. Won't be as much of a struggle

dead

like how a woman sees a cheating bastard in her lovechilds face

I predict Brandon will transform over the course of this second season. He will not be a final product by the end of it, but I think he'll be filling in to the kind of player we expect him to be.
