**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

**** it, just bring back the team on one year deals and try again in 2019, at that point you can go for broke with your trades.

If this **** face paul george costs us our young core, he can go kick rocks and rot in OKC while getting first round exits

The article referenced some potential packages could include Ingram, Kuzma, Randle, Hart, picks, etc, in some type of combination, not that it will include all of them.

Yeah I wrote combo. They can have a combo of 2
That's all I'm willing to give. And I'm keeping Kuz & Hart because they're on the books for 6 more years at 15 mil combined. That's highway robbery and 2 of the best assets you can have in a salary cap league.

This fan base will be pretty pissed off if the core is shipped out. Does the FO even understand that?

Why are you acting like they already traded everyone? This is a play by San Antonio through the media. They're obviously not getting the offers they want so they're sending their mouthpiece (woj) to let LA know that the Spurs are willing to listen to LA's offers.

The Spurs have absolutely 0 leverage here. We are not forced to acquire Leonard. We can sign Lebron and wait next year for Leonard or sign Lebron+PG and see what happens next off-season.

This is ridiculous. For one Spurs can't do that many players for 1 trade due to roster restrictions. That is entirely too much for any player, even AD. Has anyone else even been mentioned as putting up an offer? Why throw the kitchen sink when we don't have a commitment from anybody else? It'd be one thing if we actually had the other 2 stars in tow but it makes zero sense to do it right now.

The pressure on the Lakers is that acquiring Kawhi could be (according to reports) the key to landing Lebron. If the Lakers are OK with not acquiring Lebron or PG this offseason then theres not pressure to do anything just yet.

Bron has committed to come already man. This is a Spurs hit piece cause they don't have any leverage.

Which is why Magic shouldn't have said anything about a timeline.

Now teams are going to see how desperate he is to get those max players.

Even if we don't get another star, still don't see why Bron wouldn't come here instead of staying Cleveland. Don't think they make it to the finals again with that roster. Might as well sign here and wait for Kawhi to come next summer.

Honestly, the best "win-now" scenario for Lebron is Philly.

Great sh*it show from ESPN. Right before PG's next episode, they come out with this bs.

Episode 2 will probably leave us with the cliffhanger that he's going to stay with OKC

Episode 3 will show how blown away he was by sitting with Magic and the front office...thus signing with the Lakers

PG is a people pleaser, this will lessen the blow to the OKC fanbase by saying "I really wanted to finish off what wasn't finished last season, but the Lakers FO blew me away"

Key take away from Episode 1 was how often the term "front office" was mentioned

So that report most likely didn't come from Bron's camp, they don't really mess with Woj like that from what I remember.

Magic and Pelinka have no reason to put this out.

So yea, it's the Spurs playing games.

Why wouldn’t they just call the Lakers and say “what’s your best offer?” Why the games?

This is just part of the game. They're trying to make the Lakers feel pressure so that we'll give up alot of assets. Also, keep in mind that the Spurs don't want to trade Kawhi to the Lakers at all, its not like we're trading with Milwaukee or something.

The Spurs, under normal circumstances don't have much leverage. Kawhi wants out and will only play for teams in LA. They're trying to gain leverage over the Lakers by putting out these reports that "Lebron will only sign if Kawhi is in LA first"

They're negotiating as we speak.

The Lakers said we're willing to talk and the Spurs shut em down.

Now that the Spurs aren't getting promising offers from other teams, they went to Woj and asked the Lakers for the moon.

Now the Lakers will reply (either through the media or direct conversation) with what they're willing to deal.

So on and so forth.

I don't think a deal with the Spurs gets done but just for reference the same thing happened with the Cavs trade. Rumors of jc getting shopped pop up, then comes a snag in negotiations. Then magic and Rob come out saying they're fine keeping the team in tact if need be. Then boom the deal gets done
