**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

But that was the issue with big baller brand from the jump. no one is questioning your players have the potential to make more money on their own by taking control of their careers.
The issue with big baller brand was that lavar and his group seems like immature, opportunists from the jump. $500 shoes? $200 slides? $100 shirts Putting shoes on backorder for months then not full filling orders at all.

It seems like they were too busy giving interviews and developing height and didn't spend enough time developing a business plan, a supply chain for even stating the people whoor even spending the people who had ownership stake in the company.
The $500 shoes was an excellent gimmick and marketing tool used to generate free publicity. They got free air time on ESPN/FS1, got featured on several major blogs etc. But then they failed miserably converting those clicks to customers because they had no real product. They (Lavar) were too busy trying to build global awareness, create a new league, a new reality tv series, trying to become fashionnova men and an athletic footwear and apparel company all at the same time that there was no way to devote any time to one thing. They were ambitious for sure but that led to compromise in other areas especially since they all have little experience and only like 5 people on payroll.

If they had proper leadership from the beginning they could have made it to where they’re profiting more money than a Nike deal. But that’s what happens when you got no experience and a con man running your business lol

So what about Luke's terrible rotations and substitution patterns? What about the lack of coaching and development for the other 14 players on the roster? Like I said earlier, got a long stretch of the season without LeBron and it's not like we were running offensive sets. We still look like five random guys out there playing. I know you hate LeBron and would like to blame him for every problem we have but he's the least of our issues in my opinion.

Lmaooo at LEAST of our problems

Say we got Zion, then Kyrie signed on.

AD would be assassinated before he'd be allowed to be traded to us. Dude would be JFK'd so fast.

(I love your idea tho)

Something at least close to that is on the way.

opponents should be a little disappointed that the Lakers didn't make the playoffs, they just gave LeBron the most time off in almost a decade.

I'd like to see what the talk is when next season gets going.

This!!!

Especially if that groin thing is true and we get some big names this summer.

And if we somehow get Zion and Kyrie this summer. I say **** AD

I don't know how people are thinking we really have a legit shot at getting Zion. There are 9 teams with worse records than the Lakers, which means if the draft were today, we would have a 3% chance of landing the #1 pick.

Some needed positivity

theres like 4 teams with 44 losses

not saying we could catch up to them considering the win tonight but its possible

we are at 41 losses. would have been 42 if we lost

This is sad but true. The Lakers organization prioritises hiring people from the "Lakers family" as opposed to the most competent front office personnel. If Jim buss got four years to ruin this franchise I can guarantee you Magic Johnson and Rob are going to get at least five.

After that we'll most likely hire Jesse Buss as GM and Kobe with no front office experience as team president because they're part of the "Laker family".

I'm all for loyalty and respecting family and the greats of your franchise but nepotism like this is how you become the Knicks.
