**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

I'm gonna remain positive that due to all the suffering we had to endure for most of this decade that we will come out on a positive note for this potential trade

Gonna be hard to keep BI lol
Couple weeks in here everyone was saying keep Kuz and now that it might be Kuz y’all mad :lol
Figure it’s more NOLA don’t value him as much
BI is going to be the main piece no matter what
Zo is the one I actually want to keep the most tho

Best players to add if your franchise is trash and you're trying to add someone who looks like a "franchise player", regardless of prospects for improvement:

1. Ingram - could average as much as 25 points as a first option, but unless it's the 2004 Pistons reincarnated, that team will definitely be trash because he doesn't add anything aside from scoring
2. Kuzma - Like Ingram doesn't do **** but score, just not as good of an ISO scorer as Ingram
3. Ball - Definitely not suitable to be a franchise player. If he didn't have any hype left over from the Ball brand or whatever, no one on earth would be willing to pay money to see a team where he was the face of the franchise

Best players to keep if they get AD, and especially AD and Butler/Beal:

1. Ball - By far the easiest to imagine being a piece of on a championship team with his good defense and mismatches it creates. Only concern is that is very injury prone and wouldn't be available come playoff time, but that's also a concern with AD
.
.
2. Kuzma - Better to keep than Ingram as a 3rd or 4th scoring option because he's a better off the ball player than Ingram
3. Ingram - As ISO as they come, would be terrible to have as a third option behind LeBron and AD, and even worse as a 4th option. Would be a complete waste, and it could only end badly because he wouldn't be happy due to not getting enough shots, shots that he wouldn't really deserve

Let's not forget that Ingram had blood clots. He seems to be better, but that's what they said about Chris Bosh. He could end up being 100%, but it's very much a gamble. As a Lakers fan, you should be thrilled if they end up getting AD for a package that includes him.

Guys so optimistic in here, so making the playoffs is the goal. Because we don't hang banners for just getting there, making the playoffs was the goal last year. This was suppose to be a deep playoff run this coming year. How is that going to happen with the same team as last year with an older LeBron.

Oh maybe next year is when we make our championship run with an older LeBron playing NO DEFENSE. He plays some now but another year and you expect his defense to get better. You already got guys like Jared Dudley. Jared Dudley calling out LeBron's lack of defense. Guys living in a fantasy world trying to mortgage the entire team for an ailing superstar.

KD leaves GS & a lineup of Bron/AD/Third Star or two really good role players added can compete in the West.

If Knicks get involved, then the 4th Pick is gone. Just because you have to at the very least match assets.

Then it becomes wha the rest of everybody’s offer is and how they view each young guy.

I’d say out of everybody, BI should be the last guy you want to trade. LeBron getting older and AD being injury prone, you need a guy who has some semblance of ability to take over games if need be.

Then whatever is left, don’t chase a 3rd max guy. Go after guys who fit roles that you can make a deeper team then allow yourself a hard reset when LeBron goes.

I'm going to be PISSED if we end up getting rid of both Zo & BI. It'll be catastrophic going forward.

Pretty much. Because rather than make a deep team, you know what Jeanie’s MO is and they’ll chase a 3rd max player. And unless you chase Kemba or try a reunion with DLo (I’m not sure DLo would want to). It’s going to be extremely forward heavy. And piecing together players which has always been fine for LeBron in the first couple years of any destination, but rapidly takes a nose dive toward the back end.

Also if coming out of it you value Kuzma over everybody, Pelinka really misjudged it.

It's going to be Jimmy Butler as that 3rd guy and I'm going to lose it. They basically have to win a chip next season cause going forward we"ll be stuck.

3 way trade. This gets done before the draft. I thought this would be great acquiring a generational talent I mean this is historically what we do bur damn whole process stinks to high hell.

I'm thinking PHX gets involved and send picks/players to NO for #4 so they can draft Garland.

My only hope is that from day one Pelinka has constantly talked about wanting to compete now and maintain flexibility for the future. So at least it's not completely lost on him. But man..say what you want about him but I'd feel way more confident with Mitch pulling the strings right now. I feel better about Rob than I do Magic but Linda and Kurt scare the **** outta me :{

I think this screams BI/#4 to NO. Zo to PHX for #6 which also goes to NO.

All of which is really stupid unless there is an actual plan to bring in players that complement Bron/AD.

Regardless, I’m getting excited. Been quiet on the Lakers front. Need more drama!

10 more days!

I think Phoenix is a likely 3rd team or Chicago.

Griffin said he wants: an all star player, a young player with potential to be an all star and 2 first rounders

We have it all except the “all star” in BI, 4th pick and nexts years 1st. Not sure he is gonna get an all star player back from anyone with the other 2 requirements so he will need to settle for two out of three

Smh Kuz is gunna survive the purge cuz he’s Jeanie’s boy :smh:

My guess:

- Lakers try to keep the 4th pick and take Garland.
- Ingram is main piece to NOLA
- Lonzo gets traded for lottery pick + filler that get rerouted to NOLA.

I’m still rocking with my prediction.

Ingram is the main piece to NOLA.

Kuz stays. We try to keep the 4th pick & offer multiple future firsts instead.

Lonzo gets shipped to a 3 team (Phx or Chi) who route their assets to NOLA.

I really wanted to keep Zo but whatever it’s Anthony ******* Davis
