While I'm glad the Lakers are drawing the line someplace, I don't really understand why they're making Kuzma untouchable.
The Lakers are in a tough spot because we also reek of desperation. A lot of "sources" are saying that we're not a front-runner for any other free agent so if we miss on Anthony Davis, there's a chance we roll into next season with the exact same 37 win team as last year plus the egg on our face of botching another deal.

Lol when he ends up giving up all 4 we'll see cause that's where this is headed.
if he gives up 4, then so be it. everyone expected it in the first place but I have to give him credit for not looking like an idiot who's offering the whole team with little to no resistance.

personally, im done with sentimental value at this point. it's anthony freaking davis guys.

when's the last time the lakers had a legit top 5 player in his prime sign in LA?

NO one even thought this was possible during the summer of 2016 and now the lakers have this amazing opportunity to pair lebron and AD with ample cap space to for quality role players.

So what were you just throwing shade at Magic in your last post if giving up all our assets doesn't matter.

Bron was literally just signed a season ago as a top 5 player still supposedly in his prime even though it's the back end.

I think because Kuzma the player NOLA probably covets most. Kuzma's fit playing alongside Zo, Jrue, Zion, and Randle would be seamless. Ingram would be a bad fit for NOLA imho. Pels bout to run n gun. Lakers want to play iso and pnr ball

Right now they are canvassing the league to determine the value of the 4th pick. If it is able to return an all star caliber player (doubtful) then the trade happens. If not then they will try to say the pick doesn’t have much value so give us Kuzma too. I think the pels know the 4th won’t bring an AS and are using these terms to extract more assets from the Lakers.

Now it’s a waiting game. They are trying to play on our desperation and make us act impulsively. Like when you in the alley tryna cop a Louis belt n make an offer n dude says he can’t do that price is impossible but as soon as you start walking away he can make that deal .. a sale/any profit is better than none. The pelicans will accept the best package come draft day. If draft day comes and goes then any package with picks gets significantly worse (by virtue of not guaranteeing a selection this high, needing to wait a year to draft a player, not being able to select their player this year etc). We gave them a fair offer. Nobody else is even in the same ballpark. Their alternative is to hang on to AD and accept an even weaker offer at the deadline or let him walk for nothing lmao. Let’s see who calls who’s bluff first

Initially, I had reservations. I want a homegrown talent, meaning a player the Lakers have drafted and developed to be apart of a championship team but I have to agree, Davis is just not a perennial All-Star. He's transcendent and a 2 way Superstar. You have to do this trade.

Plus, at this point- the way these trade talks have been handled for the past 5-6 months- I feel like it's almost necessary to part with some of them at this point.

Getting AD before Free Agency is the key. If we strike out completely and only add the #4, that would not be good for the franchise as a whole. Bron would be furious, we'd get dragged for striking out WITH Bron, it would be a mess.

Landing AD helps get a 3rd Max guy, then losing Kuz or #4 would be worth it. (I'm praying we can keep at least one of them, WITH Hart.) But it's 26 year old AD, we have to make that move and not nix it over one single guy like Kuz.

This is where getting Bron has hurt us, it has rushed our timeline for building thru the core and adding 1-2 pieces without drama.

There was actually a stat where teams that win championships pretty much always have at least one homegrown talent as a major piece. Just more reason why we shouldn't give up the whole stock in a trade

I do this all the time at the liquor store. Try to charge me 2 bucks for some Listerine strips or a lighter. I reach in my pockets and act like all I got is a dollar 50. You know what happens?

They take the dollar 50. Pelinka would be wise to do the same

I say these attention starved cats make the announcement right after game 6, but before game 7. Makes for greater television.

Dubs pulling out the W tonight means everything for the Lakers
