Was that doable, though? Like financially & reasonably? Like DRoze saying he would've taken a Laker discount. He signed with the Bulls for $26mil. I thought all we had available was $9mil. I'm not sure he would have taken a $17mil discount.
And then there's the other 3 pieces and what they signed for compared to our financial availability.

I feel you but the problem is the path to improving the team come July isn't very clear. 2019 they knew something was gonna shake with AD and even if it didn't they had room for 2 more max deals. This offseason is going to be completely different with all the questions surrounding Bron's age and AD's health.
It starts with Russ 47mil expiring and at least one 1st. Probably not getting a haul with the way he's been playing this season. 2+ actual rotation players is a must.
Dame is what Bron and many of the fanbase want, and he is oviously a better fit than Rustle, but you're going to need other pieces as well or your looking at another year with 10 minimum contracts expected to play like actual rotation guys. That's if POR is willing to actually talk to them. Considering how desperate LAL will be trying to get off Russ, wherever he goes, they'll be taxin.
