In the next few weeks you will see who is a laker fan vs a lebron fan.
Obviously the lakers should NOT trade their only assets now that ADs injury is a mystery. If it comes back as something he will very likely come back from in 4 weeks then that’s one thing but if it’s a “wait 4 weeks then reevaluate with a chance of surgery after 4 weeks if not healing at appropriate rate” then yea the season is a wash anyways. Those that want picks traded won’t be laker fans past next season anyways

Thanks for this, man! I was mostly getting tripped up about the trading scenarios given NOPs option for 25/25. So assuming no futures are moved there is technically a world the Lakers could own their FRPs for 2025 and beyond (if NOP trade pick conveys in 2024). That is comforting at least

2023 (2024 or 2025) 2026 2027 2028 2029 all theirs
But it’s about “tradable” assets. Which they only have 2027 and 2029 of. If they give that away then in 2026 if they wanna tank, will be hard bc then it’s a 1 year tank and the next year- 2027- their pick would be going elsewhere and even though they will suck, pick will go to other team.
