Solid draft by Rob

Thank god lakers didn’t trade Russ and 2 firsts for Trent jr and Van Vleet

i don’t think Ham is going to start Hayes but it would be a similar identity to the 2020 team w/ McGee if he does.

I’m assuming at some point in the last week Ham sat down with Rob

And it went something like this

Rob: alright it’s time to think about the off-season. What are you thinking Darvin?
Ham: Dennis
Rob: yeah it’s a possibility. What role are you thinking?
Ham: Starting
Rob: I don’t think that’s the direction we’re going, but he may come back in a similar role as he had last year.
Ham: Alright. So we’re giving him $20mil
Rob: No. maybe part of the MLE. Like $5mil
Ham: can we pay him under the table?
Rob: No.
Ham: How about part ownership?
Rob: Alright, we’re not bringing him back.
Ham: Can he be a coach?

even if you had for him cheap his fit with LeBron is just so bad

I know you could use him as the off-the-bench playmaker but I still feel like Westbrook Ball (when he dominates your offense) is not something you'd want in a contender. It works when the roster is left with spare parts and he can still put up serious numbers keeping you in it but the more nuanced things of team winning ball I don't think he's ever gotten a handle for yet.

Successful offseason in 2 days, yeah?

Say it now because I don't want to hear nobody if we have a rough start or even a mediocre start and people are like "See, this is why I said blah, blah, blah months ago." 🤣 (looking at you, C CP1708 )

Say it now, not later (still looking at you).

You good or you hate it?

I love it. 🔥

Rob has done much better since the deadline.

The roster is deeper, with plenty of tradeable pieces. No real overpays (maybe Vincent)

But........

Everything. And I do mean everything, is reliant on a 40 year old man and a brittle second star.

If they play 65-70 games each, we could have a decent season standings wise and hopefully not be a damn play-in team. Get a full week off before the playoffs. 🙏

I hope they add Beasley back because a sniper could be useful for those hot streak stretches. Then if/when he goes cold you simply sit him.

If someone wants out in Jan......a Giannis, or an Embiid, or Luka, etc, we have enough parts to be involved even if it's just to drive up the price on someone else. (Or if only Dame had interest in us now....)

We are fairly young tho outside of the two main guys, I like that for 6-7 months. Hopefully helps a lot.

Certainly better than Russ, Bev etc last year. But not sure we're a Top 2-3 team out West just yet. 4-5-6 possible tho. Health willing. 🙏

Aaron Gordon - $22.266mil
Draymond & Kuz are around $23-24mil if their deals are not flat rate.

I'd say of the 55 or so guys in that salary range, 45 either aren't available/are worse fits/ worse players/do nothing in comparison to DLo and Rui.
Only thing I see there is buddy Hield and Pelinkas love for him. Say mid season D’lo min decrease bc Vincent and Reaves killing it and jhs is better than expected and team lacks shooting. I can see that as a very very remote chance but even then. Impossible to predict who is available at that time

Hopefully not.
