**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Podz got game, worry about his size if he's a SG. But the Warriors had him on the ball last night.

I know this is just his take on the roster situation but I thought it was interesting that he has Cam listed as a 2 guard, wonder if that’s how Ham sees him as well… regardless I think we’ll see a good chunk of regular season rotation minutes with either a Gabe/Austin or Gabe/DLo backcourt. So I’m wondering if Christie can give you some minutes at the 3 next to those combinations?

Also I know there’s questions about Gabe’s shooting based on regular season vs playoffs, but are people having similar concerns about Rui. If he’s back to last year’s regular season form will he still be penciled in as a starter?

Not enough scoring off the bench...
I’m sure they’ll be a lot of staggering btw AD/Bron…

So starting lineup and then maybe some units like:

Gabe
AR
Christie or Reddish
Rui
AD

DLo
Christie
Prince
Lebron
Hayes

Gabe
Christie
Prince
Rui
AD

Not sure where Vando fits in now that they signed Prince but I’m sure he’ll get some time… be ready for the “why isn’t Ham playing ______” complaints this season, but that’s inevitable when you have a deep roster

Yea the one thing that concerns me about this roster is I don’t think it has enough firepower.
No one else outside of Reeves that can really create for themselves and go get a bucket.

Because at some point AD will disappear on the court & Bron will look old.

So you DONT have to start season at 14 on the roster. Need to be at at least 14 for no less than 28 days of the season.

This one’s for MVP MVP

I posted several examples of different offensive units earlier on this page, none of which I saw and thought that they would have trouble scoring.

Off the top of my head it would have to be an all bench unit of maybe Gabe or JHS, Christie, Prince Vando and Hayes…. 😂 doubt that 5 ever sees the light of day in meaningful portions of the game.

Most of the normal rotations should have at least 2 above average playmakers/scorers at all time

Understandable. But outside of Bron, AD and AR who would you say can break down the defender and get a shot for himself or a teammate?

DLo, Cam, Rui…basically anyone that’s averaged double digits in their career is capable of getting their shot off generally speaking. Of course there’s always a good chance of a them having a difficult matchup here and there.

The only specialist I see right now who can’t create anything on offense are Vando and Hayes. Gabe should be able to run an offense and Max should be able to attach close outs and maybe be an occasional ball handler in pick and roll situations, kinda like what KCP used to do

Bol Bol is free...
I can get on board with Bol Bol, too skinny to hang with most centers, but wouldn’t mind him on vet minimum.

Rui can get his own shot, Need to get him in the post though. He reminds of of Kawhi where he likes the ball

So couple things we are hearing:

Lakers low on Wood and the coaches hated Mo’s motor last year.

So I imagine they are waiting for a new big to be waived or decide to take a paycut or they will bring Tristan back on a non-guarenteed deal.

Final answer.
