It's crazy I always miss the crazy debates because I keep crazy on ignore...
Wouldn’t even call it a debate… just me pointing out the hypocrisy of someone saying RIP Mamba and no excuses, while providing “excuses” for loses like timeouts and starting lineups.

Not doing this on the anniversary of his passing, the Kobe we all know and love put it on his shoulders whenever the Lakers came up short… even when there’s always a lot that can go wrong in a single game/series. And I think we the fans also put it on him when we thought he had enough around him to get it done… nothing else mattered.

RIP Kobe

Let's remember, it was YOU, like Ham, who puts the blame for losses on timeouts, and starting lineups and uses them as well as "injuries" as excuses for the Lakers being mediocre.

EYE have been providing solutions to YOUR AND HAM'S excuses all season long, which is to get another starting caliber Big and 2 two-way guards.

Let's not get this twisted

The older I get, the more I see that people older than me have taken their experience and now rest on 1 of 2 approaches:
1. "All my years have guaranteed me that I know more than whoever I'm talking to. My age demands agreement!"
2. "All my years have taught me a TON, and they have also shown me that there is A LOT I don't know. I will engage in conversations with those 2 truths."

I just try to make sure I'm #2. Don't always succeed, but I try again.

Something to remember in these debates. 👀

And the older I get the more I see that people who could be younger or older than me have taken their maturity level, or lack thereof, into the safe zone that is the internet and rest on these kinds of ignorant and goofy approaches:

Ah, now it all makes sense..

Might wanna get that checked out buddy

heres my guess as to what is going on 🤔

The maturity level in here is freaking insane

But what do I know. Supposedly you gotta be able to post advanced stats and numbers in here to sound like you know what you talking about.

Something to keep in mind in these here debates.

👀👀

Wow, yall in disarray, this is what I am coming back to?

A broken home?

The Clippers, especially WestSWISH is laughing at y'all.

Stop fighting amongst yall selves, dont let divide and conquer win!

First, it's the same convo I've had with CP1 someone else: pompous, subtle jabs lead to blatant jabs, and those blatant jabs are the ones being pointed at by the one who threw pompous, subtle jabs. Every time.

Also surely the advent of the internet wasn't your introduction to brazen wit.
And surely you realized somewhere along the way that you can't control or stop them... but you can control you.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also no one knows what they're talking about. There are those who realize that and just chop it up, and those who have deluded themselves into thinking they have all the answers.

😂😂😂

So I’m the timeout, starting lineup excuse guy now? Thats hilarious
That's what it sounded like when you posted that comment/question.

So let's get to the point then....what do you think is/are the reason or reasons for the Lakers being .500 after 46 games?

Embiid put up 70 on the 81 anniversary
Luka-Booker put up 73-62 on the other anniversary

This generation grew up following him, now they honor him.

:frown:
No fr. 🔥🔥🔥
I like this perspective.
Worth noting: KAT put up 62 on the 81 anniversary, too.

Same things I’ve been saying all season…

Lebron’s level of engagement is inconsistent…and quite often his effort on defense is a complete joke.
AD too often doesn’t demand the ball and lesser talented players try and cook. Starting backcourt can’t defend, bench guys that can guard can’t score. Backup center sucks, team does a poor job on the defensive glass.

They aren’t going to be a great offense because of the lack of consistent shooting… now when the playoffs begin and the games start to slow down that’s different. And it’s going to be different for them to lean into the defense end because they lack the athleticism, physicality and IQ from positions 1-3.

Plus they have a 2nd year head coach and staff full of guys that I don’t think have any head coaching experience… basically a lot of thing about this team is mid, and that’s what you end up with. A crew that can beat anyone on any given night, and also lose to anyone as well.

Sounds like you're describing the 96-98 Shaq and Eddie/Nick/teenage Kobe Lakers coached by Del Harris who, interestingly enough, was a former Buck like Ham.

Phil comes in, AC Green comes in, Glen Rice, Brian Shaw, and Ron Harper come in, so does battle tested multi-ring'd vet John Salley and immediately the next season they win a chip.

But again, despite your reasons of Bron being disengaged at times and AD not being aggressive enough in demanding the ball, and the 1-3 positions being "inadequate" (hindsight is 20-20), doesn't change the fact that EVERYONE thought at the beginning of the season that they would be much better than .500 46 games in.

We all thought they built a better roster on paper than the one that played in the WCF. There's no denying this.

Ultimately this all means they have underachieved and it's largely because Ham, as the team's head coach, has been proven inadequate in his role, especially the part which he coaches up his role players so as to maximize everyone's nightly performance. Stars don't need to be coached up. Role players and those without extensive playoff experience do. This is a win-now team and yet here the Lakers are still struggling to make the play-in with a healthy LeBron and AD all season long

It's clear they have NO IDENTITY and as the old saying in sports goes, a team forges the identity of its coach.

if Ham ever gave his team and his stars a better direction, maybe they'd have an identity and start winning games consistently because as a lot of folks have said, this team already has solid pieces and is just missing maybe 1-2 more, and you cant blame injuries to guys like Gabe, Rui, and Vando as a major factor as to why this supposedly deep roster is at .500 2/3 into the regular season.

Other coaches are doing more with less talent. And every team deals with injuries all year long so that's no excuse unless you lost your star players to season ending injury.

There's one key statement there from Murray, who was coached by the great Popovich:

"Y'all want stats over wins and I can't relate."

Murray knows.

That one is for all the stats and analytics folks and love to rely solely on stats to make their case.

This is probably why people aren't convinced by DLo's recent outburst of 20+ point games.

EYE TEST > STATS all day long

I will welcome Dejounte on this team with open arms if that's his mentality.

The TLDR for this video:
-Still interested in Murray, but Hawks want DLo flipped for assets instead, then said assets traded to them
-Out on Bruce Brown (too expensive cited)
-Lakers have engaged in talks for Brogdon/DFS/Tyus Jones ongoing for the DLo/JHS/Pick package as possible leverage
-If a superstar was available, Lakers would trade AR, they don't consider Murray superstar level
-Looking for more shooting (Luke Kennard mentioned), backup C, more athleticism
-Would consider Lowry if bought-out for backup PG. Also Gordon Hayward
-Teams around the league don't value Gabe Vincents contract, especially while still injured
-Internal conversations about keeping DLo, but worried about post-season and contractually this off-season. "More likely that DLo gets traded than not"
-Ham has input on trades: "there is ZERO way whatsoever he's okaying a Taurean trade"
-Acquiring Caruso unlikely, Chicago really wants 2 FRPs, Lakers don't have that pick capital. Chicago hard to trade with apparently, has made fewest trades in NBA last several years
