in 2019-20, the Lakers were top 5 in the NBA in steals per game and #1 in the league in blocks per game. They were also top 10 in rebounds.
This year the Lakers are the 4th worst team in the league in steals per game and in the bottom third of the league in blocks per game.
It’s clear what’s missing and what’s keeping this team from being a legitimate title contender and it has nothing to do with the offense.
There’s not enough defensive play makers on this team. They are missing the Rondos, KCPs, Carusos, and DGreen type players ntm the indispensable shot blocking and shot altering abilities of Javale and Dwight
This team needs to make wholesale changes with their role players.
