**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

It's basically the same argument as last season... this Laker team defense is so bad that you might as well just lean all the way into the offense.

I will ask this question though... what has Rui done/doing that has cemented his place in the starting lineup? Because I don't see it

It's not so much as to what's he's doing (he *has* been trending down), as much as he's 6'9 and 240 lbs. Not that he uses it well all the time, but I don't think they can afford to downsize around AD, Bron and AR.

If he's not using his size AND they had another offensive-minded player to the starting lineups then I just see more of him standing around the 3 point line being useless lol.

But it doesn't matter all that much to me, plug one hole and another opens... too many leaks for this team to really be taken seriously.

Does a legit starting big man next to AD solve this?

Yes.

That’s why the Lakers keep sucking.

No advanced stats needed to know this.

JJ put out Hayes-AD as one last gasp last night in the fourth. :lol
At least he tried. Too bad Hayes isn’t starting caliber and is a backup big at best.

If it were Ham last night he would’ve looked like this

Current roster construction = no easy fix.
Might as well lean all the way into offense and start DK & AR with rui on the bench.

It’s honestly sad/hilarious how much this team misses Vando lol
