**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

I think their leaning on moving forward with no center acquisition and just giving DFS the small ball 5 minutes.
If we strike out on a big yeah, but I think they want to make a move. It’s been said they want a player long term who will be under JJ

What’s so good about Robert Williams? He’ll just be sitting in street clothes with Wood and Vando all season.
There’s plenty good about Timelord - energy, length, rim protection, defense, playoff experience, he knows positioning in the paint very well and would thrive playing next to AD in 2-big lineups.

Yes he has a history of being hurt but he has also proven he can play and stay healthy for a playoff run.

He also only makes like $12 million so the contract is a bargain.

And what I like the most about the potential of acquiring Timelord is the fact he is a former Celtic who played in the Finals. If we acquired him and if we ever faced BOS in the Finals, Timelord would be more motivated than ever to beat them and something like this cannot be quantified.

Maybe a cheap center comes along, but I think they may just roll with what they got in the frontcourt.

Fasho but the only long terms option is Kessler and if the price is too high it’s not worth it. You might be able to pull Duren or maybe mark Williams (would love this but doubt it) if you dangle enough picks but I don’t think it’s worth it.

I wouldn’t sacrifice Rui for an oft injured center like Rob Williams. I have doubts about shipping out Vincent for Valenciunas.

I like the Nic Richards proposal.

Surprised Lebron is playing tonight but hopefully ad can shoulder some more load today

Read something along the lines that if Max continues play, all focus will be on a big.

I believe it simply because Rob operates in that way. He gives himself outs to have a main focus.

BUT the team isn't better than it was a week ago, and even if you said it was, it's marginally at best.
Is a Nick Richards the final straw to stir the drink....

I mean I'm not sure why Rob does this to himself all the time.

Say it's Jonas which is the easiest target..... The reliance on some guys is going to make the elders here have an ulcer.

I can’t wait to see it when folks start acting surprised after the Lakers trade for a legit big man and start him alongside AD.

It’s rather interesting and funny to me that damn near everybody thinks the Lakers are in the market for a backup center when Hayes and Koloko are already on the roster as the backup centers and are playing solid in their roles LOL

I mean it's not that many quality bigs on the market. And a big factor in this is the Laker tax. Teams do not like us.

I think the whole thing I'm saying is

Rob already is tipping his hand that he may be done..
"If Max continues his good play, we will look strictly at Centers."
The with the bigs, he'll use his "can't buy a house that isn't for sale."

Lakers tax is real... Rob tax is realer :lol

Even if Max plays well.. No reason in hell not to load up because Gabe & DK isn't enough. And even going all in with Max, less egregious, but a huge risk not to have a pivot point if need be. Best case, incredible depth. Worst case, can cover up an issue.
