**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Agreed.

But on a team that will be at the bottom of the standings again.

We have to get over D.Lo. He is gone.

Yea it's not going away anytime soon :lol. The trade can't even really be evaluated until they do something with that cap space. So everytime dlo does anything it will be discussed in here because the check has yet to be cashed

"D Lo did something and FA hasn't hit yet! Better let the Laker thread know he had a good game!"

It'll be even worse than that if he actually does continue trending upwards and we don't pull off the play Magic is hoping to pull off.

If they get it done and land George and __ (Bron, Russ, Boogie, some other player we haven't thought of yet) then ok, it will be a move worth making.

If he strikes out, and DLo turns into a really broke James Harden.......man..... :{

I won't even mention if he actually turns into James Harden. NT will just burn. :lol

You D'Loyalists really need to make a different thread to discuss him. Maybe Essential can lead you since he turned in his fan card.

I don't like Magic and Jeanie. Has nothing to do with the Lakers. I think they (Magic and Jeanie) are **** heads. And the way they conduct business is despicable.

But on the bright side, I haven't even contributed to this conversation. Don't plan to either. But any point they've tried to make is full of ****.

Magic and Jeanie are running the Lakers though, they are the Lakers in every sense of the word for the past 30 years. I've hated Jim and Mitch for the way they've run things the last 4 seasons but I didn't turn in my fan card. Seems like you were a fan of the name on the back of the jersey than the front, but that's you're prerogative. Do you.

What the difference between the way Jim and Mitch ran the ship the last 4 years and the way it is currently being ran?

Ehhh across the country millions of people had been brought to the team by the name on the back of the jersey.

But had that been the case, I would have left when Kobe hung them up.

Personally I'm not a fan of taking a dump on every guy on the way out.

Let's see:

They haven't signed a star coming off an Achilles injury to a 50 million dollar deal.
They haven't not been able to get meetings with their top targets.
They haven't signed role players to albatross contracts for multiple years.
They haven't struck out on the names they should be targeted.

All this chicken little syndrome is premature to say the least. They've been on the job for 5 months, had a really good draft and positioned this team to make noise in free agency. Do they still have to execute, absolutely but the majority ain't even giving them the chance. Too heartbroken to see through the tears of losing former Laker PG#1. It's even worse on Twitter than here.

Like Will Cain said it wasn't trashing him, Magic just told the truth. That incident he had with Swaggy probably did make players around the league look at him funny. And given his maturity issues he wasn't a leader. Truth hurts sometimes.

I understand it on some level though y'all hurt. Even though these same things were being reported from almost the time he got to LA y'all wanted to ignore it. Wanted to blame the coaches and everyone else yet the same things kept coming out. At some point you have to face facts.

When the Lakers under Jim/Mitch traded an all star caliber talent with a bad attitude and bad knees for an all star big on a one year deal was that a good move or a bad move?

What are we gonna say if magic doesn't get meetings with the top guys? The Steph's and KD's etc. We gonna be consistent or..?

The boy preaching.....

Man some of y'all be picking and choosing what to like and what to dislike. What to turn a blind eye to and what to highlight.

How can some complain for the entirety of DLo's Lakers career but then get mad when people are upset for a week :lol

DLo has been a discussion in her EVERY DAY for the past 2 years. Especially to crucify him and all of a sudden.... :lol weirdos man I tell ya

At the end of the day Magic better have figured out the way to use all the cap space he attended or it will have been shortsighted.
