Not trading Pau wasn't some big signal of anything
there are plenty of ways for the front office to make this team worse than it is for this one yearThat's foolishness.again, i know this wont happen because for some reason this front office doesnt want a good draft pick. all im saying is without one we have a very very very slim chance of winning a championship in the near future
What do you mean they don't want a good draft pick? You don't think they'd love a #1 overall pick every year? Part of the reason they always trade their picks is because there was no fathomable reason that they would be a lottery team any time this decade.
If they thought "Hey we'll be a lottery team for a few years." We'd have picks.
But it's not so simple as just trading every player on the roster. That's not how it works when the season has been going on for 3 months.
There is no way for them to control where they are on the draft position. Somehow you have to get this through your head.
essential1 you mean the one max player....I think they will stick with their old guys. Sign Pau at a cheaper contract, keep as many role players as they can afford and go after Love in 15. not all that exciting but unless something drastic happens that's what it looks like.
I might be trippin but I swear there was a report that came out near the beginning of the season that said the Lakers don't want Melo, calling him a "false savior" but now I can't find anything on the web about it
I can't remember but were the Mavs able to flip any of their players when they were giving out all those 1 year deals?

look at what boston is doing, look at what orlando and philly are doing
just one season, we suck right now but not as much as other teams that are going out of their way to suck.
yeah i know, im just frustrated that we are winning too many useless games this season
i know we cant do much about it now outside of maybe trading pau, i just wish the front office planned to tank this offseason
i dont see "thats not what they do" as a good reason for not choosing the best/most cost effective way to get star talent. we could be battling for an 8th seed then make a HUGE deal, but that still wouldnt mean we are good enough to be winning a championship so the season would still be a waste (for me at least)That's not what they do. Also here's the thing. We could have just as likely been battling for an 8th seed, and then made a HUGE mid-season deal.yeah i know, im just frustrated that we are winning too many useless games this season

There wasn't much wiggle room for the Lakers to make the team worse than they are presently.
Mitch had a quote where he said he'd be cautious of false saviors. The article mentioned Melo and Rudy Gay, I think, but I'm pretty sure those parts were the reporter speculating on what he meant.
I don't think Pau is staying. He is still just an expiring contract to the Lakers. We'd all probably be down to sign Pau to a bargain but it doesn't seem like he'd be willing to do that.
and was basically a done deal MONTHS before we actually signed him.
maybe not a bargain but a "paycut" similar to Kobe's would allow us to keep most of our role players
Nah, Lamar OdomJavaris Crittenton has taken it the hardest since getting traded.
He always loved handling the rock.Javaris Crittenton has taken it the hardest since getting traded.
Give him more than 1 year, the FO are certified idiots...JoeCoolio if he's here next year it would be by the Lakers' choice.
