Obama slammed for fundraising with 'pro-drug dealing, anti-police' NBA player who stars in controversial 'Stop Snitching' DVD

President Barack Obama has been slammed for fundraising with a 'pro-drug, anti-police' activist who allegedly cavorts with gangsters.

Obama is in New York City raising campaign cash with 'NBA Heroes' -- a selection of former and current basketball stars including Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing and Alonzo Mourning.

But the all-star line up also includes New York Knicks player Carmelo Anthony, who is currently seen in a YouTube video and DVD that promotes drug use and threatens people who 'snitch' to police about drug dealers and other criminals.

The controversial production shows the basketballer standing next to an alleged drug dealer laughing as the man talks about life on the street and what happens to people who cooperate with police.

Later in the DVD, Anthony's companion explains that 'snitches' get 'a hole in their head,' according to The Washington Free Beacon.

Anthony also confesses in the video that he threw his Olympic bronze medal in a lake.

The DVD has clips of men stuffing wads of cash in their pockets, driving convertibles, smoking marijuana and flashing diamond-encrusted watches, and credits a special thanks to 'Melo' at the end, which is the 28-year-old's nickname.

Anthony's agent, Calvin Andrews, said the sports star had no idea he would be in the video.

'I don't think he ever knew that this was going to be on a DVD and, if he did, I don't think he would ever get involved with it or have any affiliation with it at all,' Andrews told The Denver Channel.

But Anthony himself wasn't fussed by his on-screen appearance.

'You watch music videos all day and see that,' he told the TV station. 'You could say the same thing if I was in a music video. I'm not really concerned about it. ... I don't hang with drug dealers. I surround myself with good people.'

The basketballer proudly tweeted a photograph of himself and his partner on his way to Obama's fundraising event, which will raise around $3 million.

Meanwhile, the president was comparing the presidential contest to the fourth quarter of a basketball game while in New York today.

Obama told a small group of donors gathered at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center that the campaign is like a hoops contest in the final minutes.

His team has the lead, Obama said, the other side is coming on strong and, in his words, 'they play a little dirty.'

Obama also used basketball imagery to describe his team as having foul trouble and some injuries but 'one last run in them.'

Kind of shocked to see that article was written by someone in the UK. They're usually pretty liberal out there The video at the end was funny though.

"Chasin' a big penny!"

Just to let you know it was the Fox News blog who made that the headline. Everyone else has just been responding to it. Don't agree with it at all. Just passing info

I've been shopping around for Carmelo Anthony authentic jerseys for the past couple of weeks. Just noticed that there has been a reduction in authentic jerseys on NBAStore.com. It is now $129.99 and you can sign up for 15% off. Just ordered an away authentic for $125, which includes tax and shipping. If you have family in NJ, you could get it for like $115

:lol >D i can't justify paying that much for an authentic that will be discontinued for the next season
