Poorly worded title. When people see "Living a six figure lifestyle on a $30K salary" they infer you are talking about living beyond your means.
The author is living within his means, but just is trying to "ball on a budget".

Pretty much.
I also find it really funny when people who try to live above their means with homes, cars, clothes, electronics, etc that they really can't afford can't go out for a simple dinner or night at the bar because they have no cash to do so.
