LOCK IT UP - College Football - 2009 Season/2010 Off-Season

Coaches preseason All-SEC team
July, 20, 2010

By Chris Low
The coaches’ preseason All-SEC team has been released, and defending national champion Alabama leads the way with six players on the first team.

Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram was a first-team selection at running back along with Julio Jones at receiver, guard Barrett Jones on the offensive line, end Marcell Dareus on the defensive line, Dont’a Hightower at linebacker and safety Mark Barron in the secondary.

The Crimson Tide also had three second-team selections – quarterback Greg McElroy, running back Trent Richardson and offensive tackle James Carpenter.

Counting both the first and second teams, Florida had the most selections with 10, including three first-team players.

There are five first-team selections that were also on last year’s first-team coaches' All-SEC postseason team. Those include: center Mike Pouncey (Florida), receiver A.J. Green (Georgia), running back Mark Ingram (Alabama), defensive back Mark Barron (Alabama) and punter Drew Butler (Georgia).

Right off the bat, I can see two glaring omissions. Georgia outside linebacker Justin Houston and Ole Miss defensive end Kentrell Lockett didn’t make either the first or second team. Between them, they had 25 tackles for loss, including 12.5 sacks, last season.

Here’s a look at the entire first and second teams (ties were not broken, which is why some positions have more players):

Nah but we feel real good going into the season.  Not having to play LSU and Bama helps out.  Plus our OCC is a joke compared to recent years.  I usually post about CFB on another board.

How's Brantley look?

JB has a ROCKET arm and is going to surprise a lot of people this season.

Our schedule is pretty manageable, the USF game could be tricky. But that back to back vs Bama and LSU is going to be brutal.

What new uniform tweaks/field colors are the Dawgs going to have this year to get slaughtered in

I think we are done with the new uniforms forever which suck.  I don't know why it is such a big deal down here and you have to make a big deal about uniforms when other teams wear special uniforms every year.

^ I wonder if he's faster than a 4.8 this year

, but seriously dude is a freaking monster, it's amazing that my high school shut him down in the playoffs in his senior year dude looked like a baby TO out there.
FSU football self-reports six secondary violations
By Corey Clark • nolesports.com editor• Published: July 20. 2010 11:16AM - Last modified: July 20. 2010 12:25PM

Itwas learned today that the Florida State football program self-reportedsix secondary violations to the NCAA from the 2009 season.

The minor violations occurred between August of 2009 to January of 2010.

Theyrange from a walk-on being allowed to eat a meal at the team’s trainingtable to a current player’s image being used in an in-game Publixcommercial on the stadium’s video board.
None of the violations are considered serious.

IMO , too little too late.

If Garrett was ousted WAY earlier in this process, things would have gone differently with the NCAA.

Bama DE Dareus is being questioned by NCAA about the trip to Miami

anyone who made it to that agent party is being called in for questioning
