IMO, DC's stories > Marvel's, but Marvel's characters > DC's.
DC has my favorite superhero (Batman), but Marvel has more characters I actually like.

Also, Marvel's live movies >>>>> DC's, but DC's animated movies Marvel's.

Movies - Despite the live-action Green Lantern being utter crap and the Batman franchise being the only one to translate well to the big screen lately, DC has made some very, very entertaining animated movies. (Under the Red Hood, Green Lantern: First Flight, etc)

Characters - Marvel all the way. There's no doubt about that.
