Mass Shooting Thread: Waiting on the next one.

This country’s obsession with guns is weird asf. If you got a bunch of guns you’re a weirdo. Something is legit wrong with you.
Civilians have literally no business owning assault rifles. Thats not what the founding fathers meant with "right to bear arms" at all.
Dudes was using flintlocks and muskets back then, didnt envision rifles of today and every sicko owning 5 of em just cause he can

No way in hell I’d want to be a teacher. It’s such a thankless job and if there’s not a school shooting to worry about you have some kids nutcase parents to deal with.

I don’t blame you guys and aepps20 aepps20 for not wanting his wife to teach, several of my friends have quit teaching too.

Haven’t signed my contract for next year.

Been applying to new jobs the past month and will continue to the entire summer. I’m done.
Man, more power to you. I spend my conference on government jobs applying everyday.

All this rhetoric after children and teachers were just slaughtered makes me sick.

Why? Seems like your students would need to talk about this with you. They might not with anyone else.
I have a 5 year old and a one year old. I just want to be with them for a few days free of other stresses.

Everyday I have to motivate kids coming off remote learning. deal with their issues. Handle the pressure from admin. I’m tired.

And these shootings just magnify my anxiety and the lack of empathy in this world. There’s no therapy for us. It’s just business as usual.

I totally understand where you’re coming from. I’ve seen that frustration and concerns from my little nephews teachers (middle school). It’s certainly not easy. Take all the time you need 🤝

That isn’t a teacher’s job. I know in this country we’ve come to accept that teachers are a catch-all for our kids, but that ain’t their job man. It sounds very noble and I can respect teachers that want to do so. But I also respect teachers that just aren’t feeling that.

Parents need to talk to their kids about **** like this—don’t push that on teachers. Their job is hard enough in this country.

Exactly man.

If he needs to take off to clear HIS head, I don't see why he should be guilted into going in to support someone else.
What if he doesn't know what to say / do ? We have stop that.

(Especially when they (should) have professionals there to do that. Social WOrkers / Counselors.

This country needs to start focusing on mental health and quality of life, God knows we have the money to. We gotta set up better preventative measures that combat this.

this country is too far gone. this country is beyond repair and will be the catalyst to bring down the whole of humanity. this is an evil ******* country

the overall quality of life in this country has gotten exponentially worse and hazardous in a relatively short amount of time due to a callousness of the redneck ideologies that persist in our culture.

the social contract and what people used to receive in return for their investments (education, "hard work," etc) has been eroded by corporate greed, corrupt & evil politicians and the war machine (from local police to federal government usurping billion$$$ of citizens money). people get very little in return compared to how much they contribute to this ****hole country. boomers siphoned it off

i feel like i'm having an out of body experience reading some of the details of this horror
these opportunist politicians & cheerleaders are absolutely ******* sick. they should all suffer ten times the heartbreak that the families of these children have to endure

RIP to the latest victims of this senseless act of violence. My thoughts are with their friends, families, and communities.

Hopefully, something can be done to change the hearts and minds of those that would commit such atrocities.

I'm rooting like hell for a mass shooting at a Republican party.

I'm so sick of this ****. :frown:

Already happened and you guessed it... nothing has changed since. Even when it's them the money and winning elections is more important.

Congressional baseball shooting

On June 14, 2017, during a practice session for the annual Congressional Baseball Game for Charity in Alexandria, Virginia, James Hodgkinson shot U.S. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, U.S. Capitol police officer Crystal Griner, congressional aide Zack Barth, and lobbyist Matt Mika.

I just wonder where do we go from here. If the sight of kids being senselessly murdered doesn't move those in the republican party to take action, then what will? How do you strike fear into those who have no moral compass?

The gun craze in this country started around the same time as the abortion craze. Part of the same Southern Strategy to rebrand whiteness as "culture"

Not a coincidence that originalism, the Religious Right, and lunatic NRA all showed up at more or less the same time

honestly i blame both parties

you can't just blame republicans

the democrats job is to make things happen and if republicans are stopping them they need to figure out a solution or come to a solution.

i'm not gop or whatever those weirdos are i just hate exxcuses and it looks like the excuse is to blame the senators who say no, when we should be looking at the whole government as a whole.

i hope all students and teachers just plain stop showing up.

organizations like the nba and other bililionaires can setup a pension fund to support teachers until there are actions taken from congress.

if i was a teacher i would convince everyone that we working from home or qutting until they fix this
People really need to stop these both sides takes

There are legit reason to have a issue with the Democratic Party. But they are on the right side of this issue and has been so for a while now.

If your main criticism of them is that why don't they use "insert thing you don't specify" to overcome the gun lobby's grip on the GOP. If you said you are mad they haven't used magic or the Infinity Stones, your argument wouldn't change that much

It is not an excuse to point out reality. Blame the people saying no, not the ones that have been demanding they do something and at least compromise for a generation plus.

If you want to **** on filibuster protecting idiots like Manchin and Sinema, cool, he is an outlier that deserves shade. But you are doing is tacitly letting the GOP off the hook for passing some of the blame for their action to someone else.

I just want the Republicans who are against gun control to just say out loud that they care more about money than the lives of children and innocent Americans.

If you're going to be a crooked, money hungry politician at least own it.

Probably has to hit closer to home for them. Because traditionally they don't care about anything or anyone other than themselves.

If its them or their family that are the ones affected. They dont care as long as their pockets are full and they get to keep their seat.

Its cliche to say but stop voting these ****ers in office. It starts with the people who vote for them and also their interpretation of that 2nd ammendment. When people put profit and party over morals and decency.
