laroche might actually be part of the deal. but if not...it means mike lowell is going to be getting A LOT of rest, and laroche may become more ofa bench guy...unless they plan on sitting tek, which is doubtful. mike lowell is about to see a lot more bench in the second half tho. rest him for the stretchrun and playoffs.

Tek is good w. the rotation, but he may be the biggest liability in the AL when it comes to throwing runners out. Come down to the last 1/4 ofthe season and maybe the playoffs, you're gonna need someone who is at least a threat to catch guys stealing. His arm is done....

^ agreed...tek's arm is woeful. but i will say, part of it hasn't been his fault. our pitchers havent done the best job holding runners on.

Hagadone is recovering from Tommy John Surgery, according to what I've read...

Is it true tomorrow night was Victor Martinez Bobblehead Night in Cleveland?

It is said that the Mets will be receiving Laroche from the Red Sox once the Martinez deal is official

Rosenthal on MLB Network: the Dodgers are making a run at Gonzalez and Bell; could send James Loney to San Diego in such a deal.

It might take a little bit more than James Loney as the centerpiece...

First baseman Adam LaRoche becomes expendable for Boston if they complete the Victor Martinez trade; Jon Heyman of SI tells us via Twitter that the Braves areinterested. LaRoche came up with the Braves; they traded him to Pittsburgh for Mike Gonzalez in '07.
