You're a very smart man, HIV is an AWFUL bioweapon. Most bioweapons like you said are supposed to take out "specific" populations swiftly, why would you make a bioweapon that puts other unintended targets at risk. And HIV infected man can live for a relatively long time and spread the disease to unintended populations.


The same people who think the new strains of ecoli is bioterrorism probably think new recombinant flu viruses are weapons as well. Microbes don't need our help to kill people (although over-prescription of antibiotics may hasten the evolution process by producing resistant strains). These life forms have been with us since the dawn of man and have been killing people without our help...give them some credit so to speak.

Yes, it's amazing what microscopic lifeforms can do to us, the "superior" species. I'm not as uptodate as I should be but, I'm pretty sure researchers have almost pinpointed the placement of HIV in the viral evolutionary tree and its origins. With the help of bioinformatics they have been able to discover a lot. Lol reminds me of my path bac professor she hated antibiotic soap and the idiots that would use prescribed antibiotics for everything even when they didnt have a bacterial infection. THIS is how super bugs are made, or I should say selected for.

That's another thing I've noticed. Some ppl crying about this comparison keep referencing all of the black ppl dying for civil rights as if this is suppose to be some pissing contest. It always struck me as a daunting example of ignorance. Like gays can't get civil rights until they spend a century or two being hung from trees and hunted in society.
