My Trip To China This Past Summer In Photos

Wow man thanks for sharing. I'm seriously touched. Earlier this year I made it my mission someway somehow to work in China for a few years on the finance side. Planning on becoming fluent in Mandarin and everything. Can't wait to go.

Part 3: Back to Beijing / Shanghai

We returned to Beijing for a few days for the closing ceremony of our program. During those few days, the other students and I basically just hung out in Beijing, taking in the city. We went to street markets where they sold bootleg everything, other cultural sites, and we also checked out the bar scene. Beijing has a huge expatriate population and the Wudaoko area is famous for it's bars geared towards westerners. On one of our last days, I celebrated my 21st birthday at a club called Propaganda 

. It was more crackin' than any club I've been to in LA or San Diego (haven't been to Vegas yet.)

I also convinced a couple other US students and Tsinghua students to come with me to check out some underground Beijing rock bands. D-22 is probably the most famous venue in Beijing for rock music.

Some Chinese punk band. Pretty cool. Martin, having never seen anything quite like this in his life, recoiled in horror at the mohawks, spandex, and studded leather. He said the place was full of "criminals" and he left when people started moshing 

.

I eventually leave Beijing and fly to Shanghai. My dad currently lives in Shanghai and operates an art gallery there. My little bro and my best friend since I was five also flew out to Shanghai to meet up with me. Here, my pops took my brother and I to some fancy restaurant on the Bund where they served food from Yunnan to foreigners at prices no person from Yunnan could ever afford.

A giant gilded chess set. I think MJ use to have a set.

Gorillaz mural outside M50, the art district. 

 I don't know what any of these colorful %** drinks are but my dad ordered them when he took me and his coworkers out for drinks.

 I love drunk Chinese people.

Stopped by the Shanghai Expo. It was extremely meh 

The mothership

There were so many !+*$!$% people that we couldn't get into any of the bigger countries unless if we waited in the sun for a couple hours. What did we do? We went to the lame countries like the DPRK and Iran 

.

 pork brains on ice. I didn't have the courage to try it.

 hell yeah we ate well.
