Well from a performance stand point the UA's might have been better. Penny's look like they can be stiff and/or clunky and on the heavy side. Those UA's are probably more lightweight with lighter materials, and that Micro G cushioning sounds like it would be pretty light and responsive.  Those Penny's do look sweet though...my fave colorway

thats all it is. just his number in it. they might have made the shoes in a colorway for the wizards, but they wouldnt make a shoe for his. so not really a PE, just a number embroidered

Hey listen, we've seen this before, we've heard  the psychology and business models/frameworks of it all....we see it and think that we're crazy sometimes...but it's "cool" to be part of this "exclusive" community. I caught myself saying "I've got  those" a couple of times during this video and that has always been the subliminal idea of Nike from day 1- the desire to continually create value and a frenzy! (Contrary to what sneakernews.com founder Yu-Ming-Wu would believe of the "accidental" success of the AJ-line). Companies go into business with the idea of being profitable and to achieve longevity...Nike is and never has been any different. The rate at which the rapid acceleration of the "underground" market may not have been perceived back then...but it was definitely something that was also crafted and envisioned in "The Kitchen"

thanks for the confirmation, bundy.

we all knew nike/jordan wasn't going to offer Gilbert a sneaker deal, despite looking good wearing BIN 9's or Penny 1's.

Nike can only put up with so much. It's one thing to support Tiger through his marital issues. But offering money to a guy who's brought guns into the arena and used them as violent threats is a whole other issue. Not many companies would want to take on that negative press/publicity.

On a side note, I guess the whole "gun" issue runs parallel with "under armour" haha
