I definitely hope this is the case. I would hate to see Reebok sell to Nike. So what we can have more crappy overpriced plastic shoes with a vector instead of swoosh??? This...to me would be the most terrible of worst case scenarios.

Agreed 1000% - I'm no fan of Reebok retros with the plastic leather but they compensate by running thick sockliners and padding. Nike would gut them through and through, release some garbage hybrid/fusion crap and eventually kill off the brand.
trent, is it the same investor group from HK/Abu Dhabi looking to buy Reebok? I did a quick search and there has been no updates on that since October (when they first made their announcement).
I'd personally prefer it if the Korean company that owns Fila purchased Reebok - at least they try to maintain the company's heritage and produce a good to fair quality product.

Nike do a great job with their own brands but they are horrible at pushing/promoting their acquired brands. The Weapon had a slight popularity surge in the early 00s but the AF1 quickly overtook it - not sure if this was done strategically as it happened right after Nike purchased them. Their basketball line up was mediocre at best and the Nike/JB branded line would consistently 'one up' them - hence Converse being what it is today and just dropping a million and one colourways of (low quality) Chucks.
I personally feel that Reebok releases far too many colourways of the same #&!@ - but under Nike ownership things would be 10X worse.

I quite like them, although the yellow & green elements are not entirely up my alley.
But it's probably a moot point, because if there is real hype (or limited production - which I assume there is), I won't be able to pick these up in Australia anyhow!

Wow! Just looked on PYS for those ASG Blasts and I checked the Shrouds. The FSR is almost gone on there. They've been selling at retail. Didn't expect that on any site
