I don't understand that call. So if a guy hurdles someone but his TOE tips the helmet of the guy he just hurdled, he's down by contact???

Someone please clarify. Cuz that's basically what just happened.
As long as the contact plays a part in the player going down, then it counts. Very subjective in some cases, the argument could be made here thatif he had hurdled the guy clean he wouldn't have stumbled... but once the toe hit and he was stumbling, then as soon as he goes down unless he regains control of his body he's down by contact.

That's why if you tap someone on the foot as they're running and they start stumbling a bit, even if they go down without a defender in sight 10 yardsdown the field it's down by contact.

If it causes you to go down then your down.

My friend always asks me why I hate on Suisham and tries to tell me that he's a good kicker. I always tell him how unreliable he is. Case in point. Can't even make a 41 yd fg with hardly any wind.

Seriously. It's why I can't watch NBA games anymore... now refs are doing the same thing to the NFL. I'm shocked that they reversedthe Smith incomplete, unless they had an angle that we couldn't see. I'm even more shocked that the booth review f-cked up the 4th and 1, when you canclearly see the ball as Eli's going down and his knee is nowhere near the ground...

And I'm disgusted at the illegal hands to the face call that took away a pick and led to a TD.
