As long as the contact plays a part in the player going down, then it counts. Very subjective in some cases, the argument could be made here thatif he had hurdled the guy clean he wouldn't have stumbled... but once the toe hit and he was stumbling, then as soon as he goes down unless he regains control of his body he's down by contact.Originally Posted by SHUGES

I don't understand that call. So if a guy hurdles someone but his TOE tips the helmet of the guy he just hurdled, he's down by contact???
Someone please clarify. Cuz that's basically what just happened.
That's why if you tap someone on the foot as they're running and they start stumbling a bit, even if they go down without a defender in sight 10 yardsdown the field it's down by contact.
