Other teams offered DeSean one year deals and Oakland wasn't coming close to the Was offer. Not a bad deal. Still can't believe the Jets didn't get him. Fools.

I would love to see TB and BB go to Cleveland. With the talent they have, AFC championship game at least.

Two dudes who helped us be the worst defense in the league last year right? LOL. Hatcher was playing for the money. You can see that just by looking at his previous numbers and Ware could never stay on the field. Cowboys didn't get any "worse" on D than they already were.

This and the Revis contract are easily the steals of the offseason.

How is $12m a year a steal? That's market price.

Neither is a steal. They're good pickups though. 12 mil is a lot for one year but he's the best DB in the league. No one was close to Washington's offer so you can't call that a steal. Two good moves though.

I don't know how you can look at losing your two most productive D-Lineman and say you didn't get worse.  Yeah, you had a horrible defense last year...  Doesn't mean it won't get worse.

Henry Melton is a good player but coming off an ACL he isn't making up for those sack/pressure losses.

You guys lost your top 2 pass rushers and still employ a DC that set records for ineptitude. You guys safety play is nearly as bad as the Skins and both your corners are in the wrong scheme.

Ware isn't a big loss like people make it seem, we probably would've only got 10-12 games out of him max this season. Hatcher had a great year but his production can be replaced.

Marinelli is the DC not Kiffin, I expect things to be a lot better. They'll play more man coverage intstead of the Tampa 2 crap to help Mo and Carr.

I agree, big hole at safety. Hopefully the draft will tighten things up on the defensive end.

Doesn't that logic apply to the other 9 starters on defense too? If you lose guys that accounted for about half your sack totals and bring in journey man types or injured guys to replace them, you've gotten worse

That's another reason why the extra 20m year was thrown in, if he leaves he can still technically say he makes on avg 16 a year

Demarcus Ware had two sacks after week 3,and both came in the final minutes of huge blowouts. And Hatcher had his first above average year last season. And Hatcher himself only had two games with sacks after week 8. Wouldn't surprise me if he came back to earth this season.

Obviously the Cowboys didn't get better by losing them, but I don't know if I would say they got "demonstrably worse".

Promoting Rod Marinelli to DC is a HUGE improvement to the team imo. Not losing literally your entire Dline and LB corps to injury like last season would help too.

George Selvie actually had better #s than Ware so I don't know about "most productive". Losing Ware isn't that big of a deal like you dudes claim it is.

Our draft and new DC will improve that D more than Ware and Hatcher staying on the roster. This whole Cowboys got worse argument by losing Ware and Hatcher is comical and pathetic.

Dallas just needs to get over the mental mistakes in the 4th quarter (play calling, penalties are the main two issues), as bad as the D was they still were in a position to win 3-4 more games than they did last season.

Yeah I mean clearly Ware had his worse season in a long time, and Jason Hatcher, had his best season in a long time, but that doesn't mean the losses aren't significant.  I can see letting Hatcher go but I think JJ would have liked to keep Ware around.
