why would the Eagles want to devalue someone they were trying to trade; the dude who wrote that gang article was one of the newest reporters doing anything with the Eagles. He clearly waited to the right time to drop that story.
If the Eagles wanted that story to justify their actions then they would have went with a heavy hitter like Eskin

Neither one of 'em did anything illegal. Cooper was on video saying what he said and the response was "Let's get him help" and even that was a joke. They basically sent dude on a weekend break.
With Desean because he's still cool with dudes he grew up it was "We need to use this to let him go". Just because you cool with somebody doesn't mean you're involved in what they do. Just my opinion, it's done now. How he performs with the Skins will determine if the Eagles made the right choice
