i would think whatever they scored against the Giants this past week would be a good reference. They’re probably in same situation as the Giants except Packers are at home. And it seems like Haskins has been getting sacked like crazy so Z and P should eat. And then they have Mitch the following week.

Don't know how much letting him go now helps with the head coach search or if Tepper just wants us to mail it in the rest of the year and try to get a higher pick. Cant think of many other advantages of letting him go now

Someone made a point on NFLN that Tepper has a lot of similarities to Steve Balmer in terms of how they run their teams and their inclination to want to innovate. Ultimately led to the point being made that since Tepper’s likely to clean house he’s probably going to switch gears with this team’s philosophy and switch to a more offensive minded staff. From Capers to Fox to Rivera this team’s identity has always been defense first.
If that’s where we’re going we certainly have the personnel to do it and I’m excited at the prospects of what could be.

He probably gets the year if the team showed the same fight against Packers/Saints on the road vs what we got in Charlotte against the Falcons/********.
Injuries or not the damage had already been done. We all knew this was a make or break season for Ron/Marty/Cam/everybody and the one thing that couldn't happen; happened in week 3 of the preseason.

Talking to a coworker and he made the point that this firing is lining up with what will be the end of college football here soon. Think we are going after a college guy? Got conference championships then bowl games and college coaches usually announce new jobs right around the bowl games. If he doesn't shift to an offensive minded coach, would we try to throw a bag at Venables? Tep is used to the Pittsburgh way of doing things and said he wants to keep alot of the same values. Rivera was pretty successful all in all. Good not great era for the Panthers is over. It came very close to greatness in that 15-1 season.
