NIKE Air Jordan IV OG White Fire Red: Black Friday 2020: Nov. 28th

If that’s ok to you then I hope that’s what you get with your goofy ***.

Did you actually read my posts regarding this matter? You apparently did not. So go get off your little "Im a true OG" perch, and read them before you want to come at me this way. At the end of the day, you plan on owning two pairs of a release you in general, hate. To me, that is kind of goofy. So ask yourself, who is more foolish? The consumer that does not have a microscope on their pair and enjoys? Or the consumer that does, slams the release, slams people that like em, but still ends up with 2 pair.

Pounding the table about how bad they are and then going on to say you plan on buying 2??? Make it make sense.
If a release is that bad, and I dont like it, its not getting my money. Period. I have and never will buy a pair of shoes I dont like. Just to have them. It does not take away from your knowledge or passion or "OG" status if you like a release thats being *****ed about for its QC.

I’d argue that a majority of the sneaker buying population doesn’t care about toebox shape and stitching or whatever based on the fact that Jordan’s have sold out gear after year regardless of perceived quality and these same people have no idea what the shoe is “supposed” to look like.

Yeah....I like the shoes after i got a decent pair. I never came at ANYONE who likes the shoe. Liking the release as a whole? Who WOULD with all the qc issues. I love my pair. Hate the release in general and it’s a ****ing shame.

What I DO despise is someone saying they don’t care about quality or don’t care how the shoe looks. That type of consumer mentality if everyone had it would ensure god awful release after release for everyone and nobody would even care. Thank GOD this pathetic mentality is a vast minority. Thank ****ing GOD. There was one person in this thread that I remember saying they didn’t care about quality or stitching or ALL THAT lol and that person represents a subset of the consumer population that I despise and not only for Jordans. That goes for everything.

For the other VAST minority that doesn’t care at all how the toe boxes look. IS THIS OK TO YOU??

NikeTalk will never match sales in influence. 3K posts of conveyed indifference to quality, let alone one, won't move the needle when sales continue to be on the rise. Misplaced satisfaction alone, online or off, doesn't butter Gentry's bread. The aftermarket is tracked and part of the marketing ecosystem that validates his MO -- you validate his MO by multi-dipping, regardless of how high the setting of your internal magnifier is.

This looks really bad. I'm a big '80s/'90s nut for OG sneakers but I'm honestly not a big 4 fan (both the look and the tight fit; I prefer the 3 and 5). That said I don't own a 4 and was really looking forward to these being my first. I know some people will do the eBay hunt thing and try to mix and match pairs but no one should have to go through that. Jordan doesn't deserve our money with that kind of quality control but these are selling out day one regardless.

I feel you man. What kills me the most out of ANY other thing ever, is that they keep making the height SO damn short. It throws the entire look of the model off, and it also forces them to stretch other sections of the shoes, making them look like half ***ed cheap toy replicas, in the process.

Just look how sweet everything is on the OG....

The heel part of the leather is so high, that almost the same height off the heel tab. The cut of the leather, down to the toe has a perfect slope. I can't forget about the super visible heel bump, either. Also, one of the most important things as the wing placement. It at a perfect angle.

The last retro, is damn near, if not, half pass an inch down from heel tabs.

I know it seems like I'm talkin' out my ***, but THIS below is the BEST way I can describe the model BIGGEST problem. The overall height, and wing placement.

OG

^^^^

The height is there, so the upper has enough space to align the wing at a PERFECT angle. However, with the 2012 model, and ALL of 4's released before, and after due to Nike/JB taking down the height tremendously, the wing have less space, which causes them to spread it out longer, and lower. This throws the entire shoe off.

Look at the amount of space between the stitching below the wing, too the stitching above it. On the 2012, it's like an half inch between, where as on the OG, it's a few centimeters apart. This ALL because the shoe is now shorter. From 2019 to the present, yeah the overall shape of the 4 is better...

But actually it's even worse because the cut of the model is still short, but now they've stretched it out even more. You can CLEARLY see this, in this pic of the Metallic Oranges.

If Nike/JB would just stop being lazy *****, and put the OG height back this model, I'd be satisfied. Until then, the 4's which are my all-time favorite model, will continue to be, dismal, lackluster, and a straight up disappointment. No matter what colorway it is. I'll pass on everyone. I swear, they act like we're asking for Fear OF God, Air Mag quality. All we want is something that NEVER should've been ****** with, in the first the damn place. Here's pic morphed together, so you can see how bad this model continues to look like, without the height.

I know it's not the best, and if someone can do it better, please do. The irony of this all, is that the tongues stayed the same height. They just look like shin guards, because of the lack of "HEIGHT". I'm pass tired of their BS antics. The continuous butchering has got to STOP!!!!

This was really good. Props.

I just saw a pair on eBay where the left shoe had a HORRENDOUS TOE worst I’ve seen yet.. It was like a straight 90 degree box toe!! 🤢

That said, I’ve seen some pairs (or individuals) that look really nice with a decent slant at the toe box. Much more so than other recent 4 releases. The nice pairs are a great looking shoe and on par with other recent retros.

I think I’m just gonna stick to buying off eBay so I can verify my pairs okay. This shoe and the fire red 5s toes are extremely inconsistent. I see some shoes that IMO are/should be B grades.

thats correct,

Nothing to argue about.

This is old news and a repeated point made on NT year after year.

Unfortunate but it's true.

Honestly a good portion of the people buying these have never been in proximity of an OG 4. I was born the year they came out and I’ve touched OGs as far back as toe cap steel 10s as an adult and charcoal 9s as a child but honestly the kids fighting to get these now were born the year Mars 4s dropped. I had a kid reference toro 4s as grails and in my mind I was like I remember passing on the release, scooping a month later for 20 under retail and selling a few years later to fund some Hare 7s(which are grails to me) but honestly only the cats in their late 30s 40s and 50s had the top OGs in a time they could really remember specifics on them and those people are no longer the people JB market to. If the NT Karen’s are under 40 doing this complaining that’s nuts and if their over 40 I’ll just leave that alone.

I was born in 78', as my username indicates, was lucky enough to own every OG Jordan from the 6 on up. Although I want the 4's to be fixed as much as anyone, the ones that really bother me are the 9's and 12/13's since I had the og of those. The 9's might be the most butchered to be honest, doesn't look like even the same shoe as it once did. Glad they at least fixed the 11's, which are my favorites.

Haven't won a reservation since the new FLX system. If I reserve on the FTL app and the Champs app can I win two pairs or will it be one or the other?
