I can deal with the yellowing. Just give me that shape. That OG toe is gorgeous
Dude I think you're mishearing me. I'm not even trying to argue. It's not that the OGs didn't eventually EVER "yellow" a bit. It's that the retros, especially if worn, will be at least three shades more yellow within three years or less compared to those OGs which are about 33 years old. THAT'S the point some of us have been making. My lightly worn 2016 WC IVs were way more yellow than those OGs within two years or so. The OGs discolor in a way that if you saw someone wearing them, you'd just think, "Cool vintage Jordans." They still look pretty much fine. Then you see someone wearing a pair that's only a couple or a few years old and you think, "Yikes, it looks like someone peed all over them."
There is ABSOLUTELY something different in how that mesh is made now compared to then. I don't know what it is, but it's clear (and not yellow) as day

Yoi just said earlier they don’t yellow. You all over the place bruh…I’m done with this.

I don’t think it has anything to do with them being OGs or retro, my 5s from 2015 or whatever have no yellowing but my White Cement 4s do. I’ve only worn them both once. And to say no OGs yellows is a pretty bold statement considering you’ve probably only seen pictures which don’t show colors accurately. With that being said, you can clearly see the OG Fire Red 4 netting is yellow, not bad but by comparison to the Retro it obvious

The OGs do yellow.

But not as fast

Or as much as the modern shoes.

100% with everything you said. My '16 WC4 netting looks exactly like your pic. In some lighting you can't even see the yellow tinge, while in other lighting it's super obviously. Again, my older white laser 4s have absolutely no yellowing. Diff materially for sure though.

Yellowing is imo unpredictable with todays releases. Unless they a put them in an aged cryo type chamber to see the affect, no knows what they will do. Yellowing on todays made shoes are semantics to me at this point. I hate it. But what can you do. Nike dont care. Enjoy em now. Not 5 years from now. These cats at Nike are not thinking about your long term investment of your purchase. They want you to wear now, buy again later.

But what sucks is, even if you wear immediately and aren’t saving them, some turn real yellow real quick, long before the rest of the shoe is anywhere near beat. I don’t even mind yellow netting on the Vs anymore, but IVs look awful with it.

What will you do?
What, with white IVs? I only have one pair, the Fire Reds. That was my first pair of Jordans so they’re going nowhere. When they yellow, they yellow and I’ll still wear them. But the issue definitely keeps me from buying any other white pairs. When the WCs inevitably come back in 2024 for the 35th anniversary, I’ll buy them again but it still sucks LOL
