Craziest part is there are usually a ton of pairs sold for only double retail then there’s the hike after a drop. These were limited enough it was outrageous from the jump.

Nah. KAWS released the black 4s on his own site exclusively. No boutiques. No SNKRS release. No stupid pop-up shop. He put resources into having servers that could withstand the traffic and then opened the raffle for like 15 minutes. The raffle required a credit card to enter and then KAWS and his team spent a day or so (don't remember exactly how long but it wasn't 20 minutes like Nike's dumb system) bouncing multiple entries and bot entries. If you go in that thread, you will see an inordinate amount NTers hit on the black pair.
Nike has the resources to do the same thing but it just doesn't care.
