And its crazy how when i was growing up anyone other than a black person was looked at wrong for using the N word, as if it was ok to use if you were black. So in this video (which i find funny) the Asian people use the word Ninja. It was a joke get it......... if the actor was not Asian he couldn't call them Ninja.
SMH. The problem with this video is that it does not show people going about there everyday lives and just using the word "ninja" naturally. The people who made this video intentionally thought of every stereotype of African American they could think of, many negative, and just said "We will replace Blacks with Asians, and the n-word with ninja". The entire reason people would find this funny this because they are making the connection in their head "Yeah Blacks act like this, they're lazy, loud in public, don't have jobs, don't pay bills" there is nothing clever about anything in that movie except for maybe the last part with the Indian guy.

If the roles where reversed and some black actors where doing some Hong Kong Phooey type $%*+, solving math problems and crashing cars. You know, all the negative stereotypes that exist about Asian. This forums would explode and tons of people would be on the bat phone to Dirty to get the OP banned.

Finally quit that "black people shouldn't say the n-word either $%*+" so what, get over it, you can't say one damn word, and others can.
I see what you are saying (especially about using Blk stereotypes). But at the same time these stereotypes fit any race and culture to me (just my view on people in general). I know white people who are lazy, jobless, don't pay bills, crash cars. etc etc. The same can be said about Hispanics. It's all on how someone interprets the skit imo. And as far as the N word goes, i could care less who is allowed to say it. I say it all the time to my Blk, white, Asian, and Hispanic friends. I was just making the comparison to how when i was growing up Blk people felt that they should be the only ones to use that word.
I feel the skit is too obvious with who the are making fun of, they had a black dude in the skit, and they used a Kanye West song where they replaced the n-word with ninja. Lets be honest here, these people did not make this skit thinking "this could be applied to anyone". You can tell they're intent was to mock African Americans

There are Asians who don't approve of black people that have never even seen a black man or spoken to one in their lives.
You dumb mother f, Read my post I said everyone of my family member have been through getting robbed or held at gun point at one point in their life. So we're only speaking from experience If it never happened my family wouldn't give a shh about black folks. Like my mom said they let me live in peace and I'll be fine. The Asian's you're talking about I have never met one of them so that shows your ignorance surfacing. Y'all wanna point fingers so I'm gonna point fingers back. Black folks is the real racist. Yea I said It, sue me.
If you're studying black people in the hood for why they do what theydo as an ethnographic experiment and you still haven't figure it out, Isuggest you pick up a history book.
Why don't you pick up a history book on the original Chinese American's that came here in the 1800s and in the end ask yourself who the cry babies are. Also I don't study black people, I simple observe. They used to lynch black people with ropes, They used to lynch China-man's with our own pony tails. People are always saying why you never seen an Asian guy with a white girl and only Asian girls with white guys? It's because in the 1800s Chinese men were not allowed to marry outside their race and only Asian woman are allowed to. Chinese men caught marrying outside their race would be lynched or killed. You may say that was in the 1800s and so was slavery why you do you folks keep bringing it up then? It just shows who the real cry babies are.

I feel the skit is too obvious with who the are making fun of, they hada black dude in the skit, and they used a Kanye West song where theyreplaced the n-word with ninja. Lets be honest here, these people didnot make this skit thinking "this could be applied to anyone". You cantell they're intent was to mock African Americans
I feel Like everyone missed the point of this video by a mile. Lemme break it down to you ignorant fools aiight?

Get into an Asian point of view and think, we as Asians was never able to use the N word because we weren't black. So it became an internet trend as well as a reality trend to replace the N word with the word ninja as an alternative. Now the folks who made this video, made a play on this word/trend, and said "hey, us Asians are the real ninjas, If black folks could claim the N word then we could claim the word ninja". It was simply a play on the word. Those stereotypes thrown in were harmless jokes, same way you'd joke with your homies of different descent. I can tell most of y'all don't have Asian friends. We're chills people. I hope this opened some eyes.

It's really ridiculous how many of y'all is reachin. I posted this video with intent of some LULz I didn't even think anyone would turn this into a racial thing. SMH

I don't wanna sound racist but I'm gonna break it to you, a good percentage of the human population don't look at black folks in a positive light so don't say It's just Asians. I've seen and heard countless stories where African Americans both male and female beat, rob, and shot Asians, whether it's Delivery workers, working fathers, or Asian student, hell even my dad been held at gunpoint by robbers. So in the Asian communities stories is passed around because we look out for one another. You say we love to "imitate" blacks, but I grew up in the projects with black folks since I was a little kid. Exposed to drug dealers, pimps, rapist, murderers you name it crack pipe, bottles and needles was an everyday thing for me. Please don't stereotype us, I have taken a lot of effort into learning more about black culture and I really take it with a lot of understanding so please do same for my people. I'm so serious I could write a book on that.
so just because you grew up around "drug dealers, pimps, rapists, murderers, crack pipes, bottles, and needles" everyday you feel you're in tune with the overall black experience? What do your poor living conditions have to do with black culture?  We aren't all pimps, murderers, drug dealers, crack heads, drunks and rapists so why are you equating those things with "imitating" blacks? You don't want to be stereotyped yet you just stereotyped all black people

I'd love to read your book about how all black people are rapist pimps who drink excessively and smoke crack and hide out in pissy project hallways waiting for their opportunity to rob & kill innocent, unassuming asian delivery people.
You missed my point by a mile too, So when Tupac say things like " The words I say don't come from a mothers or fathers mouth, they come from a pimps mouth or a prostitute or a hustler or a drug dealer. To me, these were my role models" Would you have said the same thing to him? Oh all of a sudden somebody of another skin color says the same thing a brotha would say about his own people, It's "racist". No I don't stereotype black folks, I worked in a soul food restaurant in an neighborhood where you'd have to walk at least 5 miles before you'll see another white guy. If I was racist I'd stay away from black people in fear of them raping, beating, robbing me. But I don't I actually stay closer to black folks in hopes of learning why some do the things they do and also because I look at black folks like human beings. It doesn't help that all 5 of my mom's siblings live in NYC housing projects all over NY and everyone of them been robbed or held at gun point. God forbid all your family members got hit while driving by a China-man (Just throwing out an Asian stereotype out there) and caused financial or health problems to your family member, you'll never look at Asians the same way again and you wouldn't be half as understanding as me. You'll be like F-- them god damn Ch!nks.

I'm just saying there's truth to some of those stereotypes. My neighbor smokes crack all day has a 9 son, and throws a party everyday every time they see me they're asking to borrow some money or want a cigarette (NY smokers know packs be 11.50$ now). I mean I live in the hood too so I'm just as broke as them but they stay thinking just cuz I'm Asian I got money. They gotta get their priority straight, the father is in and out of jail and the mother stays home and smoke crack all day both of them don't work but they got a 72 in TV. SMH priorities not straight.
Oh you work at a soul food restaurant!? there's no way you could possibly be racist

I don't know who you're trying to convince but you keep using all these stereotypes of black culture to illustrate how "down" you are and all it's really doing is proving how ignorant you are. The black experience isn't a line in a rap song, in case you thought otherwise. Pac raps about his own personal life experience (some of it exaggerated for effect/shock value), we (black people) don't all live lives akin to what's depicted in Tupac lyrics or with a hood mentality. That would be like me assuming all asians are ninjas or know kung-fu just because I watched a Bruce Lee movie.

You stay close to black people so you can "learn why some of them do the things they do"? really? I'd hope the only reason you're staying in a crack infested neighborhood overrun by hookers, pimps and drug dealers is because you can't afford to move to a better neighborhood, not because you just want to stick around and observe poor black people…because if so you're the one that needs to get your priorities straight. It's sad that you've spent all that time around black people and the only observations you could come up with is that we smoke crack, eat soul food, sell drugs, pimp @$%*, party, beg for hand outs, rob, and steal from hardworking asians. We don't have any redeeming qualities? You might be an asian that grew up in the hood around some black people but that doesn't change the fact that you're still asian. Your life experience/living conditions don't determine the racial group that society decides to associate you with, if that were the case poor white people living amongst black people in the 60s would of been discriminated against equally and denied the same basic human rights as their black counterparts (but we all know that wasn't the case).  The black people you identify with don't represent our entire culture; we don't belong to one monolithic group. I'm not saying you're racist but you're doing what many racists do by painting black people in a singular dimension so maybe you should think twice about equating your adventures in the hood with the overall black experience if you want to avoid coming off as a racist. You might feel there's truth to some of those stereotypes, and you might not be wrong in that assumption but you also have to take into account the fact that you're only being exposed to a select group of black people, so your perspective is skewed…if you grew up in an middle-class or upper-class black neighborhood maybe you'd have a different view and a better understanding of black people.

y'all just wanna hear me say, I hate black people, I wish black people never existed, They don't belong on the face of this planet, and I can't see myself learning anything from them, and they'll never advance in this society.

It seems like you guys don't want me to say I like black people so I'll say the exact opposite, It seems this is what y'all want and this is what y'all wanna hear, y'all wanna make enemies and not friends. Great, I understand your message now. You just turned an understanding and loving person into a racist.

I'd hope the only reason you're staying in a crack infestedneighborhood overrun by hookers, pimps and drug dealers is because youcan't afford to move to a better neighborhood,

How about we do a poll on Crimes that was done to NT'ers and their family and everyone post the race of the offender, are you too scared to see the results? How about we do a poll on every NT'er that been in a car accident and post the race of the other person. I'm confident the majority of the answers ain't gonna be Asian drivers, but I beg to differ about the first poll.

Black folks are so quick to play the race card It's amazing.

I'd hope the only reason you're staying in a crack infestedneighborhood overrun by hookers, pimps and drug dealers is because youcan't afford to move to a better neighborhood,
Right, because I love living in the hood.

True but, isn't that the purpose of a racial or funny skit? I mean if it was on snl or some other network, would it matter? I'm pretty sure there are skits of other races being mocked by another race. It's just that the whole stereotyping  or making fun of stereotypes of a Black man is so sensitive.

SMH

Dude jump down off your high horse, just because people don't share your point of veiw doesn't mean they are ignorant. You can't call those jokes harmless because you are not black and have no idea how it feel to be a black and see these jokes. They are harmless to you, but the doesn't mean the jokes can't hurt others. And to argue that blacks folks are just "claiming the n-word" so Asians can join in the fun and claim "ninja" is complete BS to me. Many injustices have happen to Asians in this country but I never heard of other races calling Asians "ninjas" to demean them. It just something some Asian kids on the internet came up with to be funny.

I have Asian friends, and we at times make light racial jokes, true. But when they cross the line, I tell them and they tell me, and I never had a problem telling them that their parents are racist for not wanting me around. When they pull that "you just don't understand" mess with me I am quick to tell them well they don't understand how it effects me. And you know what's damn ignorant, judging a whole race off of a couple experiences or off what you see on the internet

And  with anthing dealing with Asian v. Black racial jokes on this board. This BS argument that blacks just "don't get it" "you all do the same thing" "it is just jokes" all ways gets brought up. But when the tables are turned, it can't go a page without people screaming holy murder and hitting the report button like crazy

That's your perspective on it, and that's fine, but that's not how alot of people (the people you supposedly understand so well) see it.It's taken more as this: Black people use the word %#@!#% all the time,so we're going to mock them by using a bunch of Asians and instead ofusing the word %#@!#%, we'll use "ninja". We'll also throw in as manystereotypes of black people as possible to mock them and show them howridiculous they look so that in hopes, they may realize the error oftheir ways and stop using it (or be OK with everyone using it). I don'tsee this at all as them "claiming" the word ninja for their ownpersonal use. I know so many Asians, I mean A LOT, and I have neverheard them refer to each other as "ninjas" neither have I seen allegedAsians online use it in reference to another Asian -- so I'm gonna haveto call ducktales on that.
I understand where you're coming from and finally somebody that sounds logical but why do you feel a need to view it in your own perspective? Why go that route? Why not accept it for what it really is and think nothin more of it? It was simply a play on words. Ducktales? Then why did method man ban the word ninja as an alternative to the real N word then? Stereotypes are what you make of it. For example I'm Asian and I have never took off my kicks when i walk in the crib nor did my parents ever taught me that way. So one day when i was still real young a friend came over who was also Asian and he said "Do i gotta take my kicks off"? I simply took it as a regular question and said nah you don't have to. It was when i went to his crib and had to take off my kicks when i realize It was a stereotype. It's like If I was black and my friends ask me want a drink I'm going to the store, and i said sure and he said what you want grape soda? I'd think nothin more of it except for a regular question unless I knew it was a stereotype. The bottom line is people gotta stop reachin and take it with a grain of salt, If you didn't like the video simply close it. Whats the big problem? Despite what you heard Asians are not out to rule the world..

Let me ask this question: If you found out a black guy scripted and directed this film would it still be racist? Honest answers people!

If it was not a mocking piece, why did they use so much slang (ex. "ignunt $%@ ninja"),  and you meaning to tell me you see Asians behaving and speaking like this regularly. Only blacks are believed to carry on in such a manner. To you and others who are Asian it may appear to add to the satire but to a African America like myself it felt like was unnecessary mocking. And for others to act like the reason we are upset is because we just "don't get it" is frustrating.

Their message was misguided and almost completely lost because of how they executed it. If they could have used a more "natural" dialogue between the people in the video using the word, it would have been received better, but like I said -- they needed the stereotypes to be thrown in for cheap laughter.
I actually saw this vid a few days ago and debated posting it here...but I digress...
other than the "pay your bills" bit... I'm curious... what were the negative stereotypes that you saw?

there's a whole clothing line dedicated to it.

personally...I don't see it as a mocking piece at all...rather as mentioned...a satire of the use of the Nword.
I don't know if you've ever hung around around other Asians...but yes, I've been around younger generation Asians who use a ton of slang, and then some.
You have to realize...a lot of these young Asians are more American than they are Asian (be it Chinese, Korean, Filipino, etc).  So their use of slang doesn't stand out to me as another BUT normal.
