at this kid being salty he aint living no where near civilization, not even if I could cop a crib for $500 I would live in ohio. Must not go out much...

There are a lot of decent places one can afford in the 5 boroughs, might not be ohio foreclosure cheap but not only will you be living in the greatest city in the world, its def a good investment

regarding the rent control thing.  ill put it like this, I live in Cali but i got in apartment in Harlem that's been in the family for about 60 years.  it's a bunch of columbia students who've been moving into the building in recent years and the rent they pay is about 3-4 times what my family pays for the apartment. like ninjahood was saying earlier I could see how and why a good chunk of these apartments stay within the family.  the apartment I stay at when im in the city is ninjahood small, but not ninjahood messy  but I could easily live in it and have lived in it for long periods of time. with New York your paying for the location and that's reasonable to me. in ninjahoods case he's in "da heightz" which is about a 20 minute train ride on the 1 or A to midtown manhattan and you have alot of stuff around you so it's not all bad. i'd dedicate a few days to organizing the room up one day if i were him but to have some of the stuff he has in there  old street fighter toys and posters and what not  it's kinda cool.

about the chick, man it is what it is.  3.5 years is a good amount of time but  you eventually get over things and if you find a new one that got potential and shows all the right quality and signs  you'll be thinking more and more about time with her  then the 3.5 years you HAD with the preggo ex.

Boy you stoopid.

Parkchester has always been one of the better areas/complexes in the Bronx--at least that was the case when I lived there.

I didnt mean to insult the area in which you live/lived....more so i meant the tenants of parkchester worsen the area. But yes it has always tried to be one of the better areas of the bronx

If Ninjahood's apartment didn't look like pit-stop for Hurricane Katrina, no one would say anything....that joint is FILTHY. Can't tell me he doesn't have roaches.

so, if the argument yall are posing is that the typical NYC apt isnt small as @**@ and overpriced, sell those dreams elsewhere...

yes, there ARE houses...nice houses....those are for mayor bloomberg types of pocket.

but, by all means, show me these lavish HOUSES yall live in out there...

Just stop. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. I know a few first year attorneys with houses in the city. Sure, they aren't broke, but NOWHERE near Bloomberg money. You mean to tell me you have to be one of the richest men in America to own a house in the city? Please go.

, i only mentioned bloomberg cause i saw his crib. i didn't LITERALLY mean BLOOMBURG, i just moreso used him as an example of  "got cake".....

those lawyers you know, i assume, cake more than the kids in here telling me living in a house in the city is common....in fact, to be a lawyer in the city, i assume you're making dough....i mean, middle management for the city in NYC make dough....not by NYC standards, but dough, nonetheless...

more people live in spots like ninjahood than spots like bloomberg is alls i was saying...and thats in EVERY borough...
I don't think this can be refuted. Renting is the norm in cities like NYC and SF. Unless you guys can provide numbers proving otherwise I'd have to agree with the statement that waaay more people live in apts than in houses in NYC.

It is what it is though.
