NT Uber Drivers

Not a driver but I use Uber all the time...I was in Nashville not too long ago and this guy had a karaoke system in his car, complete with a disco ball and flashing lights, we had a blast passing the mic around lmao

I'm curious about those of you who drive for Uber occasionally - do you have "for hire" insurance?

Every policy I've ever seen excludes any sort of paid driving in your car so even a fender bender could bankrupt you - never mind if someone gets seriously injured - and if you're on your way to a pickup your insurance company will walk away every time. They're always looking for a reason and that is a clear violation of your insurance.

Ya heard those uber self driving cars are out on the streets running redlights? But let uber tell it, it was the human driver/attendant's fault.

Am I the only one that has full blown conversations with uber drivers lol...i had this bad *** uber driver last week..we were chopping it up hard until I mentioned I had a gf from there it's like she pulled the plug on the convo and resorted to one word answers lol

I have Metromile which covers driving for Uber. They charge by the mile but I don't get charged for the miles driven that are covered by Uber. Uber covers when you accept the request and when you're on your drive.

Soooo looking at the promotions ahead and tomorrow in DC its saying 2.5-3x from 1-130 am and pretty much around 2x tomorrow after midnight for other times. Do these numbers stick or do they get higher on NYE?

Just higher due to the holiday. I'm wondering who's gonna be requesting rides willing to pay those prices knowing they'll be stuck in traffic.

Word. I mean for today, since it says 1-1:30 am is 3x surge, is it gonna get higher than that or is the surge gonna stick to what the app says?

It's always best to check the app and see what it says the surge price is for that given area. That incentive can be pretty deceiving by saying you can earn "up to" 3x surge or whatever the amount is. But, if it says 3x for 1:00-1:30 then that is guaranteed. Also, let's say the ride starts at 1:25 and ends at 1:40, since the ride started within the surge time the entire ride is charged at the surge price instead of the final 10 minutes not being hiked.

They have a new thing where it adds a ride automatically to the UBER POOL!!!

I did it 3 times and I ended up in South Central all 3 times, and noone was ready. Finally I went back home. Forget that.
what did you expect from uber POOL? if you dont wanna deal with it pay up. i use pool often and the way other riders act and complain about the service can be straight up pitiful. if you want to from A to B with no fuss just get an uberx. i only use uber pool when i'm not in any sort of rush.

I remember last nye, the surge was so high, driver's ending up just sitting around getting no rides :lol

NYE here in Nashville was some straighht BS!
They moved the New Year's celebration to another location and Uber was the exclusive drive share partner.
They had everyone sitting in front of the minor league baseball team stadium and when 12am hit the surge went up to 10.7X surge pricing.

The problem was that there were 100K people and many of them were looking for rides and it got to the point where we were just traffic locked in the city.
Took me over an hour just to get out the city with my 1st ride. And it took equally as long to get back into the city.
i ended up only giving 4 rides >:

But on my last ride I ended up taking this couple out to Franklin(one of the richer areas in Nashville)
They were really cool and when we got there they told me their DJ friend was playing and I was welcome to come in and hang out.
I went in, and these folks were ballin. They had a kitchen full of liquor, exotic weed and electric pin Dab rig, their DJ friend was killin the 1s and 2s.

I had so much fun. It was a great way to start the new year.

Had a Caddy Escalade pick me up yesterday, which is my favorite car of all time. On another note, aren't they super high maintenance and isn't it not worth it to put that type of wear and tear on it? :lol

Hawaiian pizza actually originated in Canada and is the most popular pizza in Australia, accounting for 15% of pizza sales.

Need to get on this Uber thing for the Super Bowl here in Houston :lol

Better get on it, the green light hub on star lane is a madhouse... been here all day. You'll probably make more money the week of, than the actual super bowl day. My first night out was new years made over $300.00 PM me if you decide to do it I'll give you some tips and hot spots I've found.

anyone hear about the whole #deleteuber trend
guess uber was operating during the whole taxi strike at JFK as solidarity during the protest
