NT Uber Drivers

Taken a couple uber pools and was super cheap, didn't even pick up another rider. I thought to myself, this sucks for the driver

It does. You can drive for like 20+ minutes and the pay is like $11 :|

lol. Bro. I took Uber from Downtown Oakland to San Francisco financial district on Uber pool. The driver paid a toll $6, didn't pick another driver and we were stuck in traffic. I paid $7 bucks for a 15 mile ride.

When you factor in everything, the driver is technically losing cash as opposed to making cash.

Anyone got experience driving with Uber Eats? It just came to my area. Pros/cons?

Drivers don't paid tolls. Riders do. Not saying you're lying but it could be that Uber made a mistake but we always get reimbursed. And what you pay is not always what the driver gets. Uber subsidies a lot to get drivers out there. But yes, there are rides that aren't worth it. But we also get rides where I made $20 to drive someone 5 blks. I drove someone from SF to Menlo Park(45 min drive) for $70. I don't look at it ride by ride. I look at how many hours I worked and what I made.

This ride paid $29 but Uber gave me an extra $20 and I was able to pick a ride right when I dropped off. So I made $55 for 1 hr 15 min.

I just started do UberEats in SF cause they pay 1.4x from 11am-2pm and 1.5x 5-8pm. It SUCKS if you have to PU or DO in downtown but otherwise it's not too bad. You can do whatever in the car since you're not driving anyone. I'm prob gonna try to just do it around my house and at those times.

Word. But then I was like weeellllll it's an option so why not use it. Always rate em 5 stars tho :lol

Are the rates similar to normal Uber? Like paid per mile and minute?

It's $3.00 base + $3 per mile. Nothing for time.

So for about an hour I did $31 plus Uber will pay me 1.4x Comes out to about $43. Plus Uber will give me $230 for completing 70 rides which equals to about $3 per ride.

Basically for that hour I made almost $60.

True! I am glad to hear that they do compensate drivers for tolls. I rarely ride with Uber outside of a city and never had a toll experience. But, when I saw him paying for it, I thought that would be the biggest L if no compensation was provided.

It is the 2nd transaction lol.

I'm thinking about doing the Uber thing. I'm not that far from the airport and the minimum fare here is $5.95.

anyone rent a vehicle to drive for uber
might look into it

heard leasing through them is not great

my lady did it when she got hit. rented it for about 2 weeks while hers was getting fixed. from hertz it's was $250/week and a $200 deposit.

it's kinda steep but she's a full time driver so she had to do it to keep working

Everytime i check for a uber pool or lyft line (same concept, shared rides) the estimated fair is only like $0.75 cheaper than a regular uber /lyft. :lol

I just my first Uber Eats the other day.
They hadn't sent me the bag yet so I didn't want to do it but decided to give it a try.

At the time it was surging at 1.4x. They sent me to Krispy Kreme donuts.
Took 10 dozen donuts 5 min up the street and they paid me close to $12.

After that I was like YUP, im doin Uber Eats.
They will make you a link where you can do both or just drive so I would say sign uo for it.
Work it during lunch hours when a lot of deliveries are going on and turn it back off when lunch is over.

not sure what the rate was but Im in Nashville Tn and from that one drive I think it may be worth it.

But for real Im bout to sign up for Lyft too. Their bonuses are lit.

Not here its not. I HATE airport rides unless I am taking them to the airport. Otherwise its a complete waste of time.
Here they have you sitting in a cue with about 50 other people and it takes forever just to get a ride.
I waited for an hour and a hlf one time and didnt get a ride and still had 12 people in front of me in the cue. Never again.

The ONLY way I go to the airport is if they send a txt that say only 2 or 3 peple at the airport and it is surging. Otherwise F that.

I would rather do 20 short rides than be waiting around all damn day.

Where do you drive?

In the Bay, they have it so that if you're dropping off at the airport you are automatically on top of the queue. What I've been doing is stopping the ride a minute early when I'm almost there so I have a better chance for picking that next ride. It's been working almost every time. Otherwise I don't think airport are worth it cause you're driving back w/o a fare.
