NTers who lease their whips? Vol: new whip every 3 years

lulz. I aint even gonna bother anymore. I'll just keep enjoying my LEASE and let leasers and buyers cook. No hating from me, just sharing my knowledge.

Everything you're saying is valid.

Car notes just ain't for me, though.

If i had a car note, I wouldn't be able to cop sneakers and clothes like I do.

If I had a car note, I would have to rethink my living situation.

i have a car note and cop sneakers and clothes

long as you live within your means its all good bro

Just leased my first car on Saturday. A confusing experience to say the least, for me anyway. Ended up paying $260 for a 2014 car. I paid the taxes, dealer covered the rest. Sucks my insurance went up.

Figured this out a while ago when it comes to leasing discussions on NT :lol

with as much rent is these days, i think a mortgage is actually cheaper..lol

i think he was saying renting out a property you own was the cool thing to do.

i dont know if he was trying to stunt or what as that had zero to do with the question i asked

i read it the same way you did initially

hahah @ the stunting something you don't have referring to a lease.

LMAO , dude, please educate yourself on what a lease actually is and what it entails before you open your mouth.

FINANCE- lienholder aint you son... nothing yours til you get da pink

LEASE- lease company aint you either son... nothing yours til you decide to purchase it and you get the pink ..

get it?

or should we go over this again.

dude out chyeah trynna be a warrior with his "my opinion is da besss" attitude.

Why do people associate leasing with trying to stunt?

There are a lot of people who lease basic *** cars I highly doubt they're trying to stunt in a dodge dart

i leased my wife's Jetta SE, 265 dollars a month for a jetta.. if we bought the car brand new the payments would be 450 - 500 or so.. residual is 12999 when we turn it in april and since we dont drive much, around 14,000 miles on the car.  I will finance it and then flip the car and make 1-2k off the car and use that for our next lease :)

I just dont see much of a downside in leasing, because if you decide you want the car, you can always pay the residual, which sometimes is less then what the car is actually worth.  If you dont want the car, or there is negative equity, just turn it in..

the only big negative is millage restriction.  but for me its a non issue, since we dont drive too much and she is a stay at home mom right now..

This thread has gotten foolish.

I lease a 72k car.

I could buy it if I wanted to, but I know I'll get a new car in a couple years.

My personal living expenses are just a little over 3.5k a month. Including my lease.

I have friends who are my age (28) who pay the same or close in monthly expenses.

A friend of mine has a brand new ford focus and my monthly is $200 a month more than his.

They all make less than 100k a year.

I've made over 250k the last 2 years.

I'm happy having a brand new car.

I hang with plenty of people who have a lot of money. ALMOST all of them lease cars that have brand new cars. The others are people who don't care what car they drive and just pay cash for an old car.

I also have a truck as a work vehicle that I paid cash for and I'm also buying another cash in a month or two.

It's all about what you prefer. I don't think their is a general right or wrong answer.

Most of the people who shout just pay cash and don't lease, have either bad credit, don't make a lot of money (over 75k), have a lot of personal debt, or believe in not having any revolving debt.

The " You don't own the car" logic is flawed. People who lease don't care that they don't own the car.

I will say that since I've leased my car, it has probably generated an additional 100k or more in income for me this year. Simply because it's put me in higher networking circles. Also, because I'm a young black business owner in a business dominated by older whites it has given me instant credibility with them.

Do they care that I lease?

No.

Our society has caused people to respond with comments like " OH you got that to stunt for the gram" yada yada.

Most of the folks saying this WOULD NOT even qualify for a lease.

ALSO

A large majority of my lease is written off against my business. Something I wasn't able to do if I bought it. My accountant educated me on the tax relief going either way. Leasing as a business owner was a no brainer IF you aren't paying cash.

Going to lease a car bc I own my own business. I'll enjoy the write offs, while NTers laugh and think I'm trying to stunt in something I don't own. Then in 3 yrs do the same thing.

For some people it makes financial sense, especially those with a business. It also makes sense for people who are comfortable financially, don't mind a cheap note and want new cars regularly. But hey NT extremes: if it doesn't work for you, it's "factually" stupid for anyone else to do.

Didn't see this post, but it's SPOT ON.

lease away brothers. Like someone said.. most of those that are hating on leasing probably dont even qualify for one.

I am happy. and it makes sense for me and my goals.

Trust me I could lease any whip on pretty much any lot but Im in the business of building wealth. I want to retire by the time im 55. 60 at the latest with a minimum of 10 Mill in the bank.

If you are making a large income and have a lot of money in the bank and want to essentially waste money go ahead but this country has a problem with debt and thinking they can afford things because the payment fits their budget at that time.

If you write off the car for business you can still get tax deductions with a car that is financed or that you own outright. YOu can take a mileage deduction or straight line depreciation

Iam around 120k a year. Iam content with that for now. So no I don't lease because it fits my budget. I just lease :)

People value money differently. I personally don't want the money I worked for sitting for a rainy day when I can die tomorrow. I set money aside for my fam in case something happens other than that I'm spending the money I work for on things I want so it's not considered a waste IMO.

People do value money differently and I am not at all opposed to enjoying it while you are here but way too many people live way past their means hence why 76% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck and having car payments is a big part of that. I guess everyone on NT is the anomaly though and can easily afford their car payment while stackin tons of cash.
