So you don't think playing in person is a good way to get better? Damn, I've been messin up then...really got into poker about 4 months ago (trying to transition from sports) but I've only been playing at Foxwoods...looks like I need to go to Mohegan sometime as it looks like you could've started this tourney there (that being said have you ever played at either place?)

I'm going to try to get some $ online today or tomorrow, what do you think about playing tournaments live in person though? I've only really played 1/2 and 2/5 NLHE at Foxwoods, but have been interested in trying some tourneys there...Been doing nothing but reading stuff on 2+2 to try and learn more, I'm confident with my skill its just time to make the full transition/get the financial backing/back myself

Any tips would be appreciated

i'm up at one or the other a couple times a month

but to give my thoughts on some of those questions until VM comes thru - online you get more of the mechanics down and you see way many more hands than you would playing live

it all depends on the person...most online players HATE the live game because they say its too slow...they are used to multitabling and dealing with more of the math of the game instead of people watching and the slow grind that comes with a live mtt tourney

i can tell you though they are all different worlds - live cash games vs live tourneys vs online tourneys...you could really master one and suck at the rest

your best bet is to play them all and see what your fit is...get all the mechanics down and then focus on your game

foxwoods has some good dailys with guarantees on them all week...also the mega stacks is coming up with some

games
mohegan is a nicer poker room and the staff handles tourneys much better...but as far as looking for action Foxwoods has way more traffic and a much bigger room - its also easier to start earning comps for rooms and stuff since its a much bigger property

feel free to pm if you have any questions about either casino

I wish our Poker threads really took off...

haven't been able to play as much since I got a real job but man, those long days on Full Tilt really payed off for me at the time

still hope to eventually play some events at the wsop sooner or later.
