Lamar Odom 9.8 rebounds in 31.5 minutes this season.

Amary Stat 8.9 rebounds in 34.6 minutes this season.

Which one runs off at the mouth after game 1?  The dude with THREE rebounds.

People want this guy on their team this summer.

Um, Yes some people want an explosive All-NBA powerforward, who avg 23/9 this season on their team next year.

^
Yeah, sure, explosive.  That gets me wins that matter.

I'm crazy for thinking he sucks, I should just fall in line.  I'll try to be better.

I thought it was a proven fact already that Amare does not crash the boards and avoids all physical contract in front of the rim as much as he can.  Unless it's in those stretches where he "turns it on".  Then he grabs those 8 to 9 boards a game.  As much talent as he has, Amare is explosive solely when he decides the time is fit.  It's still crazy to me he's never average over 10rpg for an entire season.

Anywho, this picture cracked me up:

Basically.

Naw, I'm ahead of the curve.

You're crazy for wanting that guy on your squad.  He'll never win a damn thing in the NBA.  He has no heart, no drive, all he cares about are his dunks and his contract.  He'll go right back to doing nothing next season after he gets paid.  Trust me.  If you think he is driven by anything else, then you sir, are the crazy one, not I.

amare doesn't suck but he sure is overrated.

maybe he needs the proper motivation? maybe after he gets that fat contract he will give up his body more?

I'm glad that I never wrote off the Celtics.  But I expected much more out of Orlando.  And yet, I don't write them off either.  I have this feeling the Magic will find a way to cause problems.  Boston may have the series, but i'd be stunned if the Magic get swept out like nothing.

If we took the #1 PG in Paul, and the #1 Center in D12 and put them together, would that team be the #1 team in the league?  Honest question.  Both are the best at their spots, but I still don't think I would be fearful of them as a duo.  And i don't know why.

It depends who else you put on that team CP. If you have some outside shooters, like a Korver or Johnson, and a bruising 4, like a West, then I think that team would thrive. Would Dwight clog the post like Shaq did to LeBron?

Well, all the Stat talk had me thinkin on Nash and Stat as "upper tier" center/PG combo.  However, both are garbage on D.  Paul and D12 don't have that same stigma.  They could actually defend their players.  But if they didn't have a Kobe/Bron/Pierce type, then they would HAVE to have a Raja type defensive force to at least slow them, agreed on an elite shooter, but Korver would get beat up on D, so it would have to be someone a little better.  Rashard would almost be perfect because he could space the floor and still get a few boards that Howard wasn't able to get.  I think I would take a Lewis over West, I dunno if Howard really needs a banger PF next to him.

Paul
"Bell Type"
SF.......
Lewis
D12

Of course decent bench, whatever needs you need filled.

Would that team decimate all?  Or would perimiter type teams with those 6-5/6-7 guys still have the edge these days?

Maybe Ray Allen as that Raja type?  Less defensively, but certainly murder in terms of shooting/spacing.  And still effective on D.

Hmmmm,  If I'm the Magic, I give the Hornets Jameer and whatever else, get CP3, sign Ray as a free agent, pair them with D12 and Shard, and watch what happens.

CP i never wrote off the celtics either...people most notably cavs fans were calling me crazy that the celtics will get it together in the playoffs

Paul would definitely get Dwight more looks and opportunities to score than Jameer does right now, but how much faith do you put into Dwight as your primary mode of offense. He shoots a high FG% but majority of his points come from the pick and roll or cleaning up the glass, if you get him 20 shots a night does he still score with the same efficiency?

A lot of people would say no, and although his post game is lacking, he's still only putting up 10-12 shots a game.. so I don't know, it's possible.

Bill Simmons been stealing my material.

The big retro-question: Is Orlando tough enough to flip this series around? Isn't it interesting that this year's happy-go-lucky playoff teams -- Cleveland and Orlando, both known for having fun in pregame warmups, organizing funky dances and laughing/strutting with big leads -- suddenly got that collective deer-in-the-headlights look as soon as someone punched them in the collective mouth? If anything stood out over Boston's last eight games, it's been their icy professionalism; they just keep coming and coming. Not many chest bumps, very few smiles, just a locked-in group of guys. Even in 2008 (when they won it all), they weren't locked in like this -- they've played 13 playoff games so far and only stunk in one of them.

Look, I love chemistry as much as the next guy, but if we've learned anything this spring, it's that the "look how much fun we're having!" routine doesn't fly in May and June. At some point, you have to suck it up, stay focused, bang bodies and make plays. Cleveland couldn't do it last round; Orlando hasn't done it through seven quarters of this round. And now ... we're here.

Word?  What idiot would think such things?  Gasp!

pimp.gif

But Orlando hasn't changed their attitude from last year, and they beat Boston and Cleveland to get to the Finals. And when it came time for the Lakers, they didn't lose because of their relaxed attitude in warm-ups, they lost because LA was the better team.

Orlando wasn't as bad as Cleveland was, you never saw Dwight dancing mid-game on the sidelines and I can't recall seeing Gortat do the running man on the bench. All they ever really do is the little warmup dunk contest for a few minutes... then you have Dwight who just smiles at everything.

I'm definitely not a fan of the relaxed team attitudes, joking, dancing, etc.  You dance and joke when you win the title, otherwise there's nothing to be happy about, but Orlando isn't losing because Shard boosts up J-Will for a dunk pre-game.  They're losing because Rashard is ghost, the Celtics D has locked down the shooters, and their bench is a non-factor.  And I still think they would have lost the first two games even if they had the Celtics icy cold demeanor.

Also, I hate Bill Simmons.
