Official 007 "Skyfall" Thread. Out Now!

Did he bang that black chick or what?
In the old Bond flicks, Bond always flirted with Miss Moneypenny, but I think it was implied that it never went beyond that.  Same goes for Skyfall, I'd imagine.

He banged her. No way ol girl gonna go to his hotel room for nothin and leave with just givin 007 a shave. Besides, she almost killed dude in the beginning, she had to make it up somehow.

If they're staying true to the Bond-lore.  They don't get together

When I commented earlier on the film I totally forgot to mention the intro sequence just like others in here. Adele KILLED it. Usually the intros are so long and boring and I can't wait for the movie to get started but this one was really brilliant and it hooked me. Easily the best intro in a Bond movie.

Yep...if you've seen most bond flicks you can discern that moneypenny is in love with Bond and he's in love with her. They won't cross that line because he doesn't want to hurt her because of his line of work and she won't cross that line for fear of getting emotionally involved. The sexual tension between them is always intense in the old bond flicks.

Movie was sick. Just as good as Casino Royale. The ending and twist as well as the new Bond attitude was tight. They did an awesome job

Did Bond actually succeed? Did he achieve any of his mission objectives?
Is Silva really a "bad" guy? How would any normal person react to getting ****** over and discarded like that?

That's the job, homie. It's what he signed up for.

I loved Casino Royale and I thought QoS was okay, but this movie was terrible. I loved that Casino Royale was so realistic.

  1. Isn't the #1 mission of any officer out in the field to prevent as much civilian casualties as possible? Yet they go chasing through the streets potentially killing hundreds of bystanders.
  2. In the beginning, Bond knows girl is taking the shot, he has an earpiece, why not duck??
  3. What was the point of the opening chase scene? What did that do for the plot? It got them the piece of shrapnel to go after the villain?
  4. Who keeps top secret information on a hard drive?
  5. If the villian was a master hacker, why did they need the hard drive?
  6. Too much quipy dialogue that was not funny
  7. I thought it was random that ol' girl came in and shaved him
  8. Bond gets on the boat to Bardem's island, it seems like they're going to this island undercover, then all of a sudden they're prisoners.
  9. Q is talking about Bardem's laptop having complex security, and Bond cracks it by noticing some random letters on the screen.
  10. Bond can't shoot, then all of a sudden can shoot again when he's at his old crib
  11. Watching them at the old crib setting up those booby traps was like watching Home Alone
  12. Villain had a helicopter, if the goal was for M to die, he should have just bombed the house.
  13. The opening scene should have shown Bardem on the mission then taking the cyanide. This would have created a much more credible villain.
  14. Bond pretty much failed at preventing anything - Asian girl died, M died

This movie was incredibly dope, loved it! There were a crazy amount of easter eggs, I wish I could find a list of them all.

Im surprised I havent seen anybody make note of hands down the best nod in the movie... the famous red barrels from the Goldeneye video game. They were more like canisters in the movie but no doubt that they were a nod to the game imo

True, you're right. I'm aware that they never get together in past Bond films. But in this film we don't even find out that she's the new Moneypenny until the very end. So I think in this film they allude that they have a fling at least once which was in that scene. And I think in future films, they'll continue with their traditional relationship of just sexual tension and flirting. And even though he made that advance to her while she was shaving him when he was trying to unbutton her blouse and she turned him down I also figured they eventually got together cause after the shave scene it cut straight to fireworks which I thought was a symbolic giveaway IMO.

Pop quiz: where is JB's family originally from?
They are French / Swiss

It was good, I liked it and was entertained. But it's not "the best bond ever". I like Casino Royale, Goldeneye, and Goldfinger better. But it was fun.
People are just making too much of it.

This really wasn't a traditional Bond film because there was no traditional bad guy. It was really just an internal MI6 problem which gives this Bond and entirely new dynamic.

I stand by what I said this is one of the best bond movies and movies of 2012, of course we all love Casino Royale but as one poster commented the character must grow as well, he got shot and lost his nerve it was natural for him to come back less reckless. However in the next bond I do hope to see a nice mixture of the two

Everything was GREAT until the ending. So predictable but hey, whatever.

Between this and Casino...this one wins close.

soundtrack was great adele indeed killed it.

action was amazing.

plot twists and fake outs were amazing.

loved this film. like others said the only issue is bond didn't have a real girl for this movie, someone that usually gets attached , builds a relationship, and crazy **** happens. it felt rushed the small relationship he had.

oh and i was dying laughing and sccreaming save him at the theater when the whole

"you act like this is my first time" line came out his mouth.

  1. Isn't the #1 mission of any officer out in the field to prevent as much civilian casualties as possible? Yet they go chasing through the streets potentially killing hundreds of bystandersIt's an action movie, a chase on an empty street is boring.
  1. In the beginning, Bond knows girl is taking the shot, he has an earpiece, why not duck??
  2. He was probably busy trying not to get throw off the train. They were grappling and fighting, kind of hard to just duck.
  3. What was the point of the opening chase scene? What did that do for the plot? It got them the piece of shrapnel to go after the villain? The hard drive containing the agent list was stolen, that sets up the premise of the entire movie.
  4. Who keeps top secret information on a hard drive? That's kind of the point, they shouldn't have had the list, and that's one of the reasons M was in trouble because they screwed up in a major way.
  5. If the villian was a master hacker, why did they need the hard drive? Just because. Deal with it.
  6. Too much quipy dialogue that was not funny  Subjective.
  7. I thought it was random that ol' girl came in and shaved him Define "random". She showed up to help him out, it was just a cool scene to show their relationship and the flirty playfulness. The dialogue also showed that she believed in Bond.
  8. Bond gets on the boat to Bardem's island, it seems like they're going to this island undercover, then all of a sudden they're prisoners. How could they be undercover? She works/is a prisoner of his, do you think the armed crew is going to just let a random guy walk on their secret island and meet the boss?
  9. Q is talking about Bardem's laptop having complex security, and Bond cracks it by noticing some random letters on the screen. They were't random, and Q had been working to generate those letters to help Bond recognize the word.
  10. Bond can't shoot, then all of a sudden can shoot again when he's at his old crib You've NEVER seen a movie where the protagonist is shaken or struggling, but finds his confidence again? He was wounded in the field and wasn't ready to go back to work. Maybe the challenges he's gone through fighting Silva have brought him back up to speed.
  11. Watching them at the old crib setting up those booby traps was like watching Home Alone And Home Alone was awesome, what's your point? They had limited supplies but used their intelligence, experience, and cleverness, to prepare as best they could.
  12. Villain had a helicopter, if the goal was for M to die, he should have just bombed the house. The goal wasn't for M to die, it was for Silva to kill M. Did you not notice when he said to leave her for himself?
  13. The opening scene should have shown Bardem on the mission then taking the cyanide. This would have created a much more credible villain. Except there's such a thing as mystery building suspense. You don't see the villain's backstory because it's irrelevant at that point. We don't know the villain so why do we need to see his motivation just yet? Having his reasons been uncertain made for a better reveal.
  14. Bond pretty much failed at preventing anything - Asian girl died, M died She's not Asian, she's French. And he prevented Silva from killing any more innocent people, revealing any more agents, and causing any more destruction. If that happened, it would pretty much be the end of MI6 and an international disaster for England. So yeah.. he failed at preventing anything.

Finally saw it today and I absolutely loved it.

The scene at M's hearing where she defended herself and read the poem, as Silva and his men approached and Bond ran over was one of my favorite movie sequences of the year. The presentation of a wounded and older Bond was perfect and I liked how they brought the climax to his childhood home. Bardem was the best Bond villain of the three Craig movies and was absolutely terrific. His motivation was believable, his patience in getting his revenge was brilliant, and his execution of the plan was a joy to see.

I'm disappointed Severine didn't last longer, but her sudden death certainly made an impact while watching.

Visually, this was one of the best movies of the year. The colors, the action scenes, the cinematography, everything just looked so great.

One of my favorites of the year.
