Official 007 "Skyfall" Thread. Out Now!

Saw a preview of this on Wednesday night, plan on going to see it again because of how BA it was. Sam Mendes did a great job on this one.

Im very hard on movies but this is top 3 movies for 2012 and it can compete with any movie, this was easily the best bond film IMO and I have seen them all numerous times. Lets be real before Craig took over it was all getting too corny, Brosnan did plenty to revive the series, but Craig has made bond very relevant again in a big way. This movie has everything you could possibly need and they never do too much which is much appreciated. Please go see it you wont regret

I love all the bonds with Daniel Craig...

On a side note...how is the new Bond girl in this one?

Any pics?

honestly there isn't much of a Bond girl in this film. Plays a very small role. Someone mentioned that M was the main Bond girl and that makes sense

It was okay

Javier Bardem made it better than it would have been without him.

Both the bond chicks are pretty fire, dude was straight taking what he wanted

his was swag in this movie was unparalleled :smh: dude left all fcks in the office and entered whatever woman he wanted. i felt like i wasn't doing it right in life after that shower scene. she wasn't even like wtf, she just...assumed the position :pimp:

great movie. javier bardem was creepy to say the least. worth the money for imax. final battle was dope. end had me sorta :wow: when i found out who 2 of the characters turned out to be.

Yeah, definitely. I could tell people in the theater I was in were like "8)" when that person's name became known.

Plus, the allusions to the past films were a nice touch. IMO it felt like Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were kinda taking the Bond franchise on its own path. It was nice that "Skyfall" had plenty of reminders that this is a Bond movie.

A collective :wow: and :pimp: was had when Bond took M to the garage and brought out the old Aston Martin. And  when Bond had his thumb hovering over the ejector seat button

I think the theme of this movie was to bring James Bond back to his roots. Skyfall was where he grew up at. It was where his parents died as well. If yall remembered, "sometimes I like old-fashioned" was something Bond and i believe Q spoke of in the movie. And you could see some of the "old-fashioned" things the movie had: The old-fashioned Aston, just a regular old-fashioned PP2K, no "exploding pens", the old-fashioned hunting gun, killing Silva with the old-fashioned throwing knife (provided by the caretaker who said, "sometimes, just kill him the old fashioned way").
It is the 50yr anniversary of James Bond so I think they were trying to pay homage to the old-fashioned James Bond, and with the death of the old M (who also played M in the Brosnan era, died where Bond's parents died, so in a way, M who was like a mother to him, died at Skyfall where his parents died, bringing him back to his roots) and introducing the new M, Moneypenny, and Q, it was the movies' way of saying the old-fashioned way was good, now we're moving on to the "new-fashioned" way.
Very good movie.

Excellent post. Repped.

True Bond fans, like myself, appreciate this film. It actually excites me to see the NEXT Bond/Craig film!

*Waits for details on the next one...8)

Am i the only one not that impressed by the movie? To be fair, I've never been a big Bond fan. Decided to give the movie a shot to change my mind; but walking away feeling it was just OK. /shrug

saw it over the weekend and loved it. Silva as the villain was my favorite part/parts of the movie.

I couldn't help but think of Metal Gear Solid as Silva and 007 were the "last of there kind" similar to Solid and Liquid Snake. Also when Silva swooped in with the chopper, the blonde hair, the coat. :smokin

I need to watch Casino Royal and Quantum of Solace now.

Great movie, but Casino Royale still remains the best Craig/Bond film to me. Just walking in like that on that shower scene tho :pimp:

Had a little too much to drink before we actually sat down. So I fell asleep like in the middle and missed a little of it.
But what I saw was damn good. One of my favorites of the series and def my favorite Craig film

yeah i fell asleep during some of it as well, but I didn't really miss much. this movie is pretty long but it's still really good. and tbh, it's the 1st Bond movie I seen in its entirety (well most of its entirety, I haven't really watched any Bond movies. I seen clips and pieces of some James Bond movies but i haven't seen one from beginning to end.)

I think the villain in this movie should've left his dentures out. he looked so cool and creepy looking without it and it made him look more like a villain IMO. also i think they should've explain how he got that way. I know he said something about hydrogen cyanide, but the movie didn't really go in depth with exactly what happened.

Yess!!! Some of yall are interpreting this movie like it was a novel . I came here for plot twists and action. All I can say the movie was alright.

Bruh you're so on point with the metal gear similarity. Mind blown

I thought it did. When he was an agent he was held captive and tortured for an extended period of time. The MI6 didn't send anyone to come rescue him and he thought the only way out of the torture was to take the cyanide pill hidden in one of his back molars. He had to pull it out and break the molar to swallow the pill, but it didn't work.

I guess the pill was a capsule holding the cyanide in it and instead of swallowing it, it broke and became acidic in his mouth just wrecking dudes grill completely. I couldn't even imagine the pain and agony that would cause to someone. No wonder he became the way he was. The hysterical laughter from Silva after he showed his acid grill was incredible. I hope he at least gets a nomination for best supporting actor in the next Oscar's.

Both of them present a different Bond then Skyfall. I enjoyed those two (at least in the evolution of Craig's Bond character) because he was much more vengeful, headstrong and reckless. Skyfall was more about the suave, refined Bond, which I respect considering thats the OG Bond.

I just liked the character from Casino and Quantum so much more.

Yeah thats what I keep reading in this thread. I have never seen either of those two Bond films. Im not much of a Bond fan :wow: My pops wanted to see the movie so I took him out to go see it. Now im interested in seeing the Bond played by Craig in those 2 other films.

Well seeing Casino was basically a reboot and essentially the START of 007, CR and QoS was basically pt 1 and 2 of eachother so he was still a young, naive bond that was reckless.

Now comes Skyfall, and now he's older, more mature in the 007 role. He's more in control, smarter decisions and it shows with his wardrobe and how he speaks to others compared to CR and QoS

Totally agree with you. I know that they were going for a more tired and run down Bond in Skyfall but man did Craig just look old and unable to keep up physically throughout that movie.

That's just not the James Bond that I want to see.
