ARLINGTON, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant twisted his ankle toward the end of Sunday's rookie minicamp practice at Cowboys Stadium.

Bryant, the team's top draft pick, limped to a team huddle and had his left shoe off as he walked gingerly to the team bus. He was not available for comment.

Coach Wade Phillips said Bryant was fine.

Bryant appeared to hurt his ankle running a deep route
Monday introduction for Vikes stadium bill
May, 2, 2010

By Kevin Seifert

We noted last week the imminent introduction of legislation for a proposed new stadium in Minnesota. That announcement has been set for Monday morning at 10 a.m. ET at the State Capitol in St. Paul. Although the Vikings prefer to build on the current site of the Metrodome, the bill is expected to be "site-neutral" and request one or more local governments to volunteer as a financing partner.

I don't think anyone has a good feel yet for whether this bill has a chance of passing before the legislature adjourns May 17. But in what is normally a pretty quiet time of year, this will be one of the bigger stories we follow here on the NFC North blog. The Vikings' lease will expire after the 2011 season. As always, stay tuned.
Jags continue to talk to Darren Sharper
Posted by Mike Florio on May 3, 2010 12:00 AM ET

We reported on Saturday that safety Darren Sharper could be signing with a new team as soon as Monday.  Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com reported on Sunday that the Jaguars continue to negotiate with the 13-year veteran.

"Darren I think had an exceptional visit here," G.M. Gene Smith said, per Kuharsky.  "He sees a great fit, a great opportunity with an ascending team.  I'm confident that we can be good for each other."

It's possible that Sharper is attempting to squeeze the best possible deal out of the Jaguars and the Saints.  New Orleans has had a deal on the table for Sharper; it remains to be seen whether the Saints would match any offer that he obtains elsewhere.

thats a nice catch and all

but i hope somebody stopped him and told him to use both hands to catch

Just came out that Dez Bryant's mom was caught selling crack last year....

Clearly she has problems...don't see how it's any reflection on him. I mean there were some red-flags w. him, but nothing as serious as what his mom was in to...

If he woulda tried to catch that w/ 2 hands he woulda fell.

Hearing that about Dez's mom makes me think about Demeryius 'Bay Bay' Thomas's mom and grandma. They got hit w/ 20 and 40 yr sentences respectively when he was 12 for cocaine trafficking

I mean, I think we all knew that there was a reason the Dolphins office asked that one question.

It's sad that his mom was  involved with something like that but what's even sadder is how irrelevant it is to Dez's abilities on the football field and how due to his success, something of that nature is subject to scrutiny.

We don't need to know that his mom was around crack or what she did for it, but sadly with the media the way it is these kinds of things are going to be out there despite an individuals right to privacy.

dre now you know thats a lie G

after all them adjustments he could have made one more to put both hands on it or just stopped to catch it

its like he set it up to catch it with one hand

i dont understand how you can possibly think having a mother who sells crack and being a football star are mutually exclusive ... what if she had drug debts that dez is trying to pay off for her? or if hes driving her to a game or practice or even shopping in the offseason and she gets caught with some drugs ... then it becomes a problem for the team who drafted him ...

agreed on all points....

IMO, his mom should have just kept her mouth shut about demanding an apology....she said this:

"When they couldn't find enough dirt on him, they went to that," she told Fanhouse.com on Monday. "It was almost like a scheme. They should never have put that kind of thing or question on him. Whatever reason they chose to do that, they are talking about my charges of 12 years ago and running with it. I'm not OK with it. But we are both going to be OK."

Link

she comes off looking like a damn fool for playing the sympathy card and thinking the news of her most recent arrest wouldn't surface.  But like you said, it has NOTHING to do with Dez.  It's a shame his mom can't get her *#*@ together because she's causing him further embarrassment and keeping this story news-worthy when it should have died last week.

Sweed out for a few months it looks like 3-4. I do feel bad for him since it looked like he was honestly "resetting" his life.
Pacman to sign with the Bengals
Posted by Mike Florio on May 4, 2010 3:27 PM ET

A league source tells us that cornerback Pacman Jones will be signing with the Bengals.

The move comes a day after his second workout with the team since the end of the 2009 season.

More to come.
