In the past five days, two former first-round receivers were traded for fifth-round draft picks.  One of them, Santonio Holmes, engaged in some Twitter misadventures before he was traded.  The other one, Ted Ginn, stepped into a deep pile of Twit after the deal was done.

As pointed out to us by Robert Littal of BlackSportsOnline.com, Ginn directed a three-pack of hostile and inappropriate terms at a Twitter user who said, "thank goodness you are gone!"

The problem with Twitter is that it allows folks to respond to provocation before thinking.  Or without thinking. 

So maybe Jim Rome was right when he recently suggested (tongue in cheek) that folks should be required to pass a test before using Twitter.

For Ginn, he should be required to complete a one-question exam before logging back onto Twitter:  "Have you lost your mind?"

Ted Ginn to the 49ers.....

I guess you can see it as using a 5th round pick on a PR/KR.  It's better than using a top 10 pick and drafting him ahead of Darrelle Revis, Patrick Willis, and Dwayne Bowe (w/Steve Smith and Sydney Rice being plucked in the 2nd round)

How is it a bad deal? He's not going to be expected to play WR when he gets here. We had a HORRIBLE return game last year and I'm almost 100% certain we were going to draft a KR and now this keeps us from having to draft one. He will be expected to perform in the return game and that's about it IMO.

So since the 49ners didnt trade for a WR, how bout you move his %+# to CB and lets see what he can do, at least you know he can knock down passes and wont get burned

49ers gotta go joe haden if he is there and then best RT available. if they still want a change of pace back they can try to get javid best later on

i like the trade for ginn. they needed a return man badly and if anything he can stretch the field with his speed as a slot wr behind crabs/morgan/vernon davis.

i hope singletary can get this guy motivated. so far he hasn't delivered much outside of returning kicks and a 1st round pick like him should be more than a just a kick returner.

Yeah true, the texans are in a great spot to improve their team though. Matthews would be a good fit as would one of those dbs.
