- Just watchin the POR vs HOU game, Camby is a Center that would help us tremendously.

- Been a Knick before
- Wouldn't oppose a trade to NY
- Defensive
- Can shoot from 15ft
- Like to lob it to the PF.. (which can give Amare easy alleys)
- Can run..
- Maybe Mozgov could learn from him if we ever completed a trade for him

"I'm active," Knicks president Donnie Walsh told ESPN.com. "I'm talking to people to kind of find out what's out there. It's not like we're shopping or anything; we just want to see what's available. In my mind the team is getting more defined, so it's not like you're out there not quite sure of what you want. It's a little more defined as to what we need."

"[It's] not just bigs. We're looking at a couple positions to see if we can make ourselves better. But also, whoever we're looking at has to be good enough to play now. This isn't a future thing."

Parker Admits Knicks Would Have Been No. 1 Option As Free Agent

Tony Parker signed a contract extension a few months ago that will keep him in San Antonio for the foreseeable future.

He shattered the hopes of the Knicks when he did so. New York had hoped to court him as a free agent.

The Spurs will face the Knicks on Tuesday and Parker opened up an old wound when he admitted that New York would have been his top choice if he wasn't going to remain in San Antonio.

"Right now, I'm very happy with my decision," Parker said. "I always felt the Spurs are my family, and my first option was San Antonio, but if they didn't want to keep me, New York was definitely my first option."

Parker is glad he's playing under a long-term contract with the game at Madison Square Garden upcoming.

"Of course, I know there would have been a lot of talk," he said. "It didn't matter how many times I said I wanted to stay in San Antonio last summer. Nobody listened to me."

it's really funny reading a couple of other forums. people think that with gallanari out, randolph will start.

i have a better chance at starting than randolph. he prolly won't even play

not sure why it's so hard for dantoni to develop young talent or use his bench. anyone know why fields wasn't playing much yesterday? is it just cause TD wa shaving a good game?

let Cuban rent Melo. im totally fine with any team trying to rent Melo. It will get him out of Denver and keep him occupied for the rest of the season so he is not asking for trades over and over again where it comes to a point that he would sign an extention with a team like the Nets. And than in the summer after he has his year in Dallas well come up and sign him outright so everyone will get what they want.

We would get Melo and keep our core
Melo would get NY
Denver would get trade value for Melo and not deal him to NY directly, cause lord knows they are avoiding that at all costs

Cuban would get Melo and a highly potential NBA title shot

I would say..
It's a shame just seeing randolph sitting at the end of the bench next to buike and rautins..

PUT HIM IN!

If Dallas makes a close title run, you'd think he would want to resign no.

Dirk definitely still have a few more years in him.

we wouldn't get to keep our whole core if we sign melo to a max contract. we would lose chandler and i think the MLE also. not quite sure @*$ it all works out.

melo could decide to stay in dallas too. the CBA could end up hurting us. who knows at this point i just trust donnie. if i were him, i would love to play for cuban. i just don't see why they would trade him to a rival team.

i think he plays out the season there and they do a bosh type deal after

alanhahn Alan Hahn
Landry Fields named NBA Eastern Conference ROOKIE of the Month for December. Blake Griffin was named for the West. Same as November.

donnie deserves alot of credit for this pick. alot of people were mad as @#$% about jennings.

He won't get ROY is Griffin stays healthy, but a damn good player he is and can be. Honestly though, we need a new head coach.

, that may sound tired, but Mike does nothing to really develop young players. His short rotations & playing style only handicap young guys who need valuable court time. If we keep making forward progress though, it'll be hard to get rid of him. As I type this though, I'm trying to think of a list of viable replacements in the here and now. None really come to mind.

JVG would be great right now.

Supposedly Gallo is out and Turiaf will start tomorrow.

This should change the line-up a little when Gallo gets back.

Where in the world does this statement come from?  Look at the rotation that's out there now.  Gallinari and Fields (and Chandler) are extremely young and getting incredible opportunities to develop every day.  Da'ntoni has traded away veterans like Harrington, etc. to make room for young players to take control of the franchise (The opposite of a Larry Brown type, who would have kept Harrington out of fear of putting Gallinari on the floor.)  Look how much Chandler has improved since Mike took over.
Actually, look at Phoenix, and how many young players Da'ntoni watched develop from nowhere: Diaw (well, he was once a good player, and won MIP), Barbosa, Stoudemire, etc.  In fact, he is a particularly good coach at trusting young talent on his teams and letting promising players develop.

Let me translate what you're actually saying: "He won't play Anthony Randolph!"  In response, I would have to tell you that Anthony Randolph has no idea how to play basketball.  Literally.  He is a bad player, and will be a career summer-league MVP type—sort of like Nate Robinson but with much less left to give.  Why would this completely clueless guy get playing time over three outstanding (young) wing-types who all need all the PT they can get?  AR sucks...  Being able to jump high does not make you a good basketball player.  Not being a basketball-idiot does—AR is the anti-Landry Fields.

dantoni played duhon, hughes, and harrington over the rookies. gallanari was a slasher in italy, dantoni tried to turn him into a 3 point specialist.

harrington wasn't traded away.

we need height, that's why ppl want randolph to play. if randolph could hit three points shot, he would be starting. our half court set consists of 4 guys around the perimeter and amare or woever is the tallest person at the time in the middle.

his insistance on small ball is ridiculous. he put shawne !*$+%#* williams on dwight howard

he's not anywhere near an elite coach. above average? sure. but i don't see us winning a title with dantoni. he's fine for now.

David Aldridge reports that, according to a source, Carmelo Anthony reiterated to the Nuggets last week that he has no intention of accepting their offer of a contract extension.

Previous reports indicate that Denver is very likely to trade Anthony if he does not sign the extension by the February deadline.http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archi...lls_denver_he_will_not_re_sign/#ixzz1A2JST1dd

Randolph is the type of player who needs a lot of tutelage. Is his b-ball IQ bad? Yes, but this is where his coach comes him and let's him develop by getting minutes. AR has several skills that could make him a solid contributor, his best being rebounding and shot blocking. It was obvious since draft day that he was gonna take a lot of work. I'm not gonna call AR a bad player because he has the skills to build upon, he just hasn't found the right environment for them to truly bloom. You just don't come off the bench and avg 11 and 6 as a 19 year old big man because you can jump high. Put Randolph on a team where he is given a concrete role, and allowed to learn....I bet a coach like Popovich or Larry Brown could turn AR to a solid player.
